Until you lose the headset, then your phone looks broken and it would probably cost alot to replace it =(

byaah

Comments on Samsung files patent app for phone with integrated Bluetooth headset

So scrap the whole idea because you lose stuff. Hell, scrap cell phones while you're at it. I've lost one of those before...

Juice

Comments on Samsung files patent app for phone with integrated Bluetooth headset

haha calm down, I was just pointing out how it would look strange if you misplaced the headset. I think its an ingenious idea, and it makes carring a phone and a headset easier.

byaah

Comments on Samsung files patent app for phone with integrated Bluetooth headset

ummm... Not to be rude, but do you understand what stereo is? Why would you possibly care that you had A2DP on a single ear headset? That's like asking for 4-wheel drive on your motorcycle!

Todd M.

Comments on Samsung files patent app for phone with integrated Bluetooth headset

...he was saying, in general, that he prefers phones to support AD2P. Also, he's an Engadget writer, of course he knows what it is.

----------

This device looks hella cool, but the headset doesn't look like it'd be that comfortable. I don't see how it will be possible to have a phone thin enough to be a Samsung, but thick enough to fit around an ear. Anyway, I'd love to see this done...well.

derX

Comments on Samsung files patent app for phone with integrated Bluetooth headset

I guess that's my whole point... this is designed and purpose built for the person who does not want to carry a second "device" in the form of an additional headset. The selling point is meant to be it's integration... if you want A2DP and a set of stereo earpieces then, this is not the device for you.

I think sometimes people forget that it's not always about having every possible technology in every device, it's about creating diversity in their product line so they can satisfy as many consumers as possible. If you want A2DP then chances are you are not going to want to listen to your music on the, most-likely, crappy sounding attached headset that came with your phone. You will buy another set of more appropriate headphones at which point this phone with it's included headset is no longer the best choice... get a music/media based phone.

I love and respect this blog, and I know the writers are very tech savvy, including Sean. But everyone can miss the point sometimes.

Todd M.

Comments on Samsung files patent app for phone with integrated Bluetooth headset

I gotta say I'm getting pretty sick of people just trying to counter everything that comes out. I kid.

I think this is an excellent idea. It was on my wishlist for whatever device Palm needs to come out with to salvage their company. I don't want to be one of the cyborgs that wears one of these earpieces all day long, and I also don't want to carry it around in my pocket. Just want to have the option of using it now and then and otherwise keep it out of the way and un-lost. This is an idea that wants to happen.

kookoobirdz
