Hands-on with Sony Ericsson's W960i

Planete-Nokia goes hands-on with Sony Ericsson's glossiest new handset, the W960i. Featuring triple-band GSM / GPRS and 2100 UMTS, WiFi, Bluetooth, a forward facing and 3.2 megapixel autofocus cam, 8GB of internal storage, and all shoehorned into that slick exterior finish called "Black Vinyl." As far as UIQ 3.1 handsets go, the W960i is a beast in the look and feature departments, seriously, if it rocked some 3G that we could use, we'd already have one. Pricing and carrier info is still blurry, but we're expecting that info should be appearing real soon now.

I have the w960i . I want to use it also for GPS Navigation for Indian cities Delhi and Kolkata. How do I go about it ?
Wow. It seems my pre-order of this phone wasn't in vain after all! It really looks better than I could have imagined.
Gah. This phone would be amazing if the thing was Quad-band GSM and Tri-band 3G. DAMN YOU SE! Put the chipset that is in the K850i and the Z750i and I'd be happy!
I can't figure it out either. Why has Nokia picked up on the idea of releasing their high end phones in Quad & SE hasn't? Their phones would certainly sell more units if 850 was included. I know their 5mp camera's very attractive, but w/o 850 it'll just slip right on by.
Why can't these handset manufacturers put 3.5mm headphone jacks on these phones already. I hate those stupid adapters you have to use with all the Sony Ericsson phones to listen to music.
I agree, though it actually seems that a stereo bluetooth -> 3,5 mm adapter is included with this phone. It's visible on two of the pictures. And that is cool.
Just clip it onto your jacket and plug in a pair of standard headphones.
Would it be that difficult for SE and others to make their phones quad band and open up their sales possibilities? I fail to understand why they do not do this.
Why oh why must you deny me an upgrade to my W800i with this lack of 3G that you have SE :'(
SE.
You heartless bastards!
Can't you see that the American consumers want to show you some luv in return for you showin' us some?
Please, c'mon back
(and bring some 'merican flavored W960s and P1s.
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
looks...glossy
Wow! that is sexy looking!
I wish companies would stop releasing dozens of phones every few months and focus on building only a few a year which will blow everything on the market out of the water or at least get good reception in my condo.

I saw a demo of one a shop in London on Monday, they were saying 2nd week in October
Sony Ericsson doesn't care about US people.
nice, i want this phone! but when will it be out? hmmm...
I thought I would be stuck with w950i for a while cause I couldn't see any other phone to upgrade to.....but here it is!!!!!
To US people, the problem is not with SE, but with your crappy ancient networks you have! Get them upgraded! ;)
Oh, yeah, that's right, because, you know, there is no 3G in the US. Although, a relatively small portion (although they catch most of the densly populated places) of the nation has it, it does exist.
Also, let's not forget the CIngular was the first carrier to build an HSPDA network.
.....too bad it kinda decided to not to do video calling, but hell, they DID have it first.

So it's NOT a matter of upgrading, it's a matter of expanding.
Looks quite ok and glossy, but the buttons look so tiny.
i just want to know how much this phone costs... coz i love this phone and id like to buy it...
OK - sorry folks, I'm a bit of a newb here. If I purchase an unlocked model, will I be able to use it with AT&T here in the U.S.? Also, shouldn't it be able to work in Japan via the 2100 mhz channel? Thanks!
