RIM experiencing another BlackBerry outage?
Ruh roh, did RIM have another widespread BlackBerry outage? Reports are popping up all across the internets that since as early as this morning BlackBerry users were unable to get their email on T-Mobile or AT&T, and possibly other carriers as well. From the sound of things though, Jim Basille's prayers to the fair and equitable Gods of Push Email were answered, as RIM issued the following statement:"Some customers using BlackBerry Internet Service experienced a delay this afternoon in sending or receiving email. The issue has since been resolved and no messages were lost. RIM continues to investigate the matter. Service for BlackBerry Enterprise Server customers was not impacted. RIM apologizes to customers for any inconvenience."
Oh great, just put many a young, connected couples' relationships in harm's way -- please RIM, won't you think of the yet-unconcieved children?
P.S. -If you're (still) having problems, sound off in comments! Let us know where you're at, who your carrier is, etc.

BIS is down for me.
AT&T/Cingular - Dallas Metroplex Area
Scatch that its fine for me now.
I still cant send or receive email on my pearl.
T-Mobile - Spokane, WA
Tmobile here and I just got my service books resent, and restarted my device and all my email started to flood in...
Seems like its back up again. People who are also having trouble should try this. Resend service books and restart device :)
Confirm, BIS was down in Argentina for 2 hours at noon.
I haven't gotten any mail through BIS since early this morning. I'm on Verizon.
It's now past 10pm EST and I still haven't received any mail through BIS on AT&T in NYC.
I've sent service books and performed hard resets several times throughout the day. You suck, RIM. Maybe I should go pick up one of those $399 iPhones I've been hearing about.
i had problems all day - not getting the push from my verizon, but got the two emails received to my gmail on my t-mobile blackberry in NYC. i resent the service books and restarted, and now they're all starting to trickle in...hope it's all good for now...
Still out in Seattle Wa on ATT 7:41PM
Sprint - 8703e - haven't received an email on my BB since 9 am CST, but have been able to send. Live in the New Orleans area.
BB 8300 did not receive e-mail past 11:00 EDT in Washington, DC on 9/7. Carrier: ATT. Service resumed at 20:00 on 9/7.
T-mobile. Still have not received email or service books since 8:30 this morning.
Verizon in NYC and I've been good to go all day.
Down here in Mexico, we also experienced problems with BIS. Iusacell. We still had reports from clients a couple of hours ago. Im writing from Mexico City
T-Mobile in California. No go since 6.50am. Come on - I work in IT, this is almost 18 hours, but no mention of it on their website. Completely unacceptable!
Wow...You guys were quick on this one, considering the outage went into effect at about, oh 10 am this morning and here you are posting it at 8pm tonight...Did ya'lls BlackBerrys go down and you didn't know about the story?
And this statement: "Some customers using BlackBerry Internet Service experienced a delay this afternoon in sending or receiving email."...Whoever released that at 8pm is full of crap as here it is 2pm Central time and emails still are flooding through that were sent 12 hours ago at 2pm.
But you know what...We can't be mad...We are spoiled to get our messages instantly...So I don't really hold a grude against RIM. Hey, shit happens. That's the price of technology. It's not always going to work 100% of the time. Just deal with and move on.
My Curve's are still the baddest devices on the market. I just killed the time by watching 4 episodes of Scrubs...WOOT!
i stopped receiving my BIS mail sometime in the afternoon. all my msgs eventually arrived at about 115 last night.
i have at&t.
I'm on Verizon with a BB 8830 and also did not receive email yesterday. Also, just a while ago, I received messages that we marked with timestamps of better than 6 hours earlier!
Is the world relying on RIM? with no alternatives?
Anyone having data issues in the San Diego area?? Have been getting e-mails/data coverage intermittently since last night (10/29/2007)
The new RIM 8830 devices deployed on Sprint's EVDO network are giving us problems:
* The data connections on the devices break intermittently so they stop receiving email(the usual fix is to remove/reinstall the battery).
* The signal indicator seems to display a lower case "1xev" instead of upper case "1XEV" when the data connection breaks.
* Most of the devices having issues are here in the Atlanta area.
* The new RIM 8703E devices with Sprint service deployed at the same time are not having issues.
Is anyone else having this problem? If so, have you found a fix?
