We do have a unified memorycard standard it's MicroSD and now with SDHC it supports up to 32GB. MicroSD can be fit in MiniSD adapters and well as standard SD adapters. The most annoying aspect of SE phones is the fact they have their own proprietary Memory Stick format.

I agree with ShortFuse, microSD is perfectly fine, just as mini usb is catching on as well. No need to muck it up with another format.
And I can't believe Sony is on board.
