If it was REALLY running on vodafone... wouldnt there be a 3G icon next to the carrier logo? I don't see it connected to WiFi, so that leads ME to believe this is either fake, or it is an AT&T iPhone roaming happily on v-Fone.
Umm, the iPhone doesn't have 3G neither has there been any mention that the European version will either. So no, you wouldn't see 3G. You might see EDGE but the European network is not as EDGE plentiful as the North American one.
Have you read anything about the european version of the iPhone? All reports I have read include it being 3G, and most mention it having a higher storage capacity as well. Apple is not stupid, they wouldn't bother releasing their new flagship device, devoid of 3G, into a market like the EU where it would not sell to its full potential because of that. Europe has had 3G since 2001, not providing that market with a 3G compatible iPhone would be like them deciding to release it in the US as a TDMA device. Read up on the EU release rumors, you'll see that 99% of them include the phone being UMTS or HSDPA capable.
