I would welcome something like this. I don't mind using the stylus, but it's a two-handed endeavor on WinMo phones. As the guy in the video clearly demonstrates, using big fat thumbs to try and press the "X" button one-handed is not an effective solution.
The mouse pointer/trackball gives the user an effective (hopefully) one-handed browsing solution while still keeping the touchscreen interface intact. Easy input for one- or two-handed operations.
