First pic of an AT&T-branded 8925 / Tilt, 9/30 release date?
For Windows Mobile users, the HTC Kaiser / TyTN II / MDA Vario III / AT&T 8925 ("Tilt") US release is equivalent in excitement to the launch of another handset widely anticipated by Apple fans, but unlike the iPhone, poor WinMo diehards have no definitive date at which to target their enthusiasm. We've heard numerous rumored release windows before -- and most recently, word of yet another possible delay -- with none having panned out so far, meaning you should take the following tidbit with the usual skepticism: e-tailer Negri Electronics has started taking pre-orders on both the 8925 (pictured above) and camera-less 8900, and claims that units are expected to be in stock on Sunday, September 30th. If the photo they're running is indeed the AT&T production version, potential buyers can be somewhat relieved that the color scheme has not changed from the unlocked model (unlike the fugly offering from T-Mobile Germany), but as we expected, the front cam and all possibility of hacked video calling have been eliminated. Hey, gotta give the early adopters something for spending double the subsidized price.

Photoshop garbage!!!
GOD!!! Engadget... SHAME ON YOU.
Even I can tell t's a photoshop in your site and the Negri Electronics.
If this post is about release date OK, but if it's about the first pic, you HAVE to go to the optometrist ASAP
Yeah, definitely Photochopped. And not to good either. Look at the change in texture around the text compare to the finish of the rest of the phone.
That is because the plastic dips a little bit there. As you can see, that difference in texture goes around the whole screen
How would you hack in video calling anyway? No one has managed to do it yet, I don't even think its possible to hack in something that's network-dependent to that extent.
Here we go again with the fake photo. For one thing it has the HTC Today Screen. That addon is copyrighted and unless AT&T worked a deal, you will not see it on the Tilt (8925). You can added it later with a downloadable file. The Tilt will come with the standard WM6 screen like all other non-HTC devices. Also look at the date on the screen, hhhmmmm. Must be a quite news day, lol.
Maybe engadget should look into Neal Krawetz's image analysis platform?
that keyboard looks horrible
look at the missing front camera! it's kind of blurry!

Even if it's not Photoshopped, it still looks like a mess. The surface area of the keys has to be larger than the screen.
This is crazy, how do you even call this news? Days ago Negri Electronics had 9/20 listed as a release date for this exact same photoshopped device!!!!! Once 9/30 hits if the device doesn't get released it will magically be 10/5 or some other made up date. Please stop using random wireless retailers as sources. Its a load of crap and an awful photoshop. The images BGR leaked are much more probable, they showed the correct WM6 home screen with a get Telenav option which makes it pretty believable.
This is not news, its not reputable and its not worth posting!!!!!!!
Shame Engadget, Slow news day doesn't mean post fake shit.
Whoa!
I can't see. To many front row sessions looking into the lights at Pink Floyd concerts.
But even I can see the patterns behind "8925" and "AT&T" don't match the rest of the bezel. I also clearly see a half-moon where the VGA camera is.
The AT&T rep told me they were about to intro "call share" which, I think, is their trademark for video calling. So why wouldn't their top WinMob phone have that capability?
Be it that EM is blind and can't even see the compression artifacts surrounding the photoshopped areas, how about some real 8925 images from Boy Genius Report?

does anyone have a real release date for the kaiser 8925
