Alright, we think can pretty clearly order these three by excitement factor and expect a minimal amount of disagreement. phoneArena's pulled together a garden variety of new information on three upcoming models for Verizon: the U550 and U700 from Samsung along with the the VX8800 from LG. The U550 should succeed the
U540 when it materializes in early 2008; as best as we can tell there's nothing here to get too excited about unless midrange flips are your thing. The
rumored U700 comes around a little sooner, apparently seeing availability early next month -- and looking
well deserving of its "Gleam" moniker, may we add. Finally, we learn the gorgeous VX8800 turns out to be equipped with a 2 megapixel camera (sans flash or autofocus), sports a leather-like rear to match its high end appearance, and should include two themes for those looking to get as far, far away from the standard Verizon theme as possible. Any guesses which model we find the most exciting?

Yeah yeah yeah the lg-vx8800 is nice and all... but where is the lg-vx10000? THAT'S what I want! *drools*
I was always interested in that phone too, It the VX10000 looks like a badass pda. But does it have the same obnoxious features as other verizon phones? I cannot imagine that OS is very conducive to PDA-ness.
Gareth the LG-VX10000 is not going to be a PDA. The LG-VX9900 "enV" was not a PDA, and it's a wonderful phone. The VX10000 is simply adding a nice touch screen front to what looks to be an enV-esque qwerty flip inside.
If you truly are looking for a PDA with PDA functionality than you need to look elsewhere.
Hmm, Id be interested to learn more about the VX8800. Despite its cool appearence, I think only the lower half of the screen is touch screen.
I would have loved to dial with the screen rather than have a slide out keyboard. oh well, it sure is pretty though, I wonder how THICK it is?

But where is my Samsumg i760/ XV6800?
man if the VX8550 looks this amazing
imagine the VX10000
So...does anyone know what's happening to the VX8800?
I mean, it looks a successor to the Chocolate, but if that's the case, then they would release it NEXT July. Is this a holiday release?
A little birdy told me that the lg-vx8800 will premiere in two colors, Black AND Pink. With that in mind it could possibly carry the 'Chocolate' brand name. And if it doesn't I'm sure VZW is gonna market this against the iPhone. PLus it looks like the first luxury device coming to carrier branded cellphones in America
VX10K
A small bird told me that the you will be able to watch TV on large ext display. It has a 2MP auto focus camera a new HTML browser dont get your hopes up to high its doesn't play well with FLASH or any other browser ext, but hopefully this will just be a simply software update to fix that. The a slightly larger keypad then the VX9900 it doesn't look to have the silly bright orange E-Mail or EnV key like the VX9900 has. You should see this handset out in time for Christmas and this will be the closest thing to a iPhone that Verizon will come out with this year. The handset should support MicoSD memory sizes larger then the 4GB currently out.
I need to find me one of these gossip-friendly little birdies that y'all been hanging around with. They seem to know a lot of interesting stuff.
Does anyone know if the samsungU700 will come in more than one color?
