O2 launches "unlimited" data plans for the rest of us

It was practically a foregone conclusion, but O2 has finally revealed pricing on "unlimited" data Bolt Ons for mobiles not dubbed iPhone. Unfortunately, the word unlimited has a very interesting meaning in this scenario, as Pay & Go users who purchase the plan for £7.50 ($15) / month are told to keep their usage under 200MB per period, or else O2 could cancel their service or charge more to compensate. Moreover, the £30 ($61) Web Max package is available for monthly subscribers and to those who'd like to tether their mobile to a PC, but alas, you better not exceed 3GB of usage per month unless you'd like to be monitored and / or slapped on the wrist. Lastly, the Unlimited BlackBerry plan will run you £10 ($20) per month, but is still guarded by a 200MB quasi-limit.[Via mocoNews]
I will say, 200 MB is an awfully low figure. Especially for business users.
But, the 3gb, yes I can see. These types of rules are created to prevent people from "overusing" the network, if you will. People who use Slingbox, for example, require a constant streaming connection. Same with other video/audio feeds and other downloading. It clogs the network for everyone else. It sucks, but if those are the types of things you like to do, then tethering through your phone isn't the option for you.
NIce of them to match t-mobile's £7.50 web n' walk plan here in the UK - except t-mobile give you 1GB for that.
For £12.50 - £17.50 cheaper than o2 - you can get web n' walk max - designed for using your phone as a 3G Modem complete with 3GB of transfer.
Actually quite reassuring as a t-mobile customer to see o2 unable to beat them :)
do they really get away with advertising so limited service as unlimited?
This is ridiculous, they shouldnt be able to advertise Unlimited services that have such restricted access.
