Alcatel unveils forgettable Mandarina Duck phone
We're not exactly on top of the fashion world around here, so when the fashion and phone industries collide, it often makes for an awkward experience. Such is the case here, where luggage maker Mandarina Duck (who?) has teamed up with Carphone Warehouse and Alcatel to craft a line of branded handsets. Nothing special here -- quite the contrary, actually, with Bluetooth and an integrated MP3 player being the major talking points. Also included is an unusual bag clip charm, allowing the lucky owner to attach the phone to a carry-on (Mandarina Duck brand, of course). Get it starting next month in three horrifying shades -- Cherry Red, Purple, and Green -- exclusively from the Carphone Warehouse for a to-be-determined price.

Is it free? Any price higher than free is not something I would pay for this phone.
Interesting, I work at Carphone Warehouse, and we don't generally sell Alcatel phones, as they tend to be network specific branded and locked handsets. I guess this might be a good seller for Christmas though! Pay as you go I would have thought, I don't think anyone would get these on contract
I have bought one and I cannot get the settings anywhere so that I can enable mms and wap. O2 dont have them and say "go to carphone warehouse" and carphone warehouse say "contact yours network, o2 for the settings" On top of this the only contact details for mandarina duck are oversea's telephone numbers of bag shops!!! Please help me - I'm going mad trying to sort this out
As a carphone warehouse employee do you know how I can get the settings for the mandarina duck phone on an o2 contract? It won't accept gprs at the moment and therefore can't get picture messages?

Mandarina Duck makes some really cool (and expensive) bags - think Krumpler for the sophisticated set.

That said, this phone looks pretty tacky in comparison.
Do you have to place your order 24 hours ahead of time so they can prepare it for you?
my 9 year old daughter just got this phone for xmas and loves it to bits but we cant work out how to get the gprs settings on it, can anyone help please?
