Crystal ball (or spreadsheet, in this case) reveals Verizon release dates
We've caught boatloads of noise detailing Verizon's pipeline for the remainder of the year (and possibly into early '08), but exact launch dates have been harder to come by. Granted, the carriers often don't know these until the last minute anyway -- network test failures and supply problems being what they are -- but Boy Genius Report has scored a spreadsheet that should at least start to give us a rough idea of what we can expect for the next few months. The Samsung i760 finally (and we do mean finally) launches on October 19, followed by the Juke two days later on the 21st. The first of November sees the BlackBerry Pearl 8130, LG VX5400, and Palm Treo 755p (probably right about the same time Alltel gets it), with the LG Venus coming just a short few days later on the 4th. The 15th sees two new shades for the G'zOne Type-S -- black and "burgundy / gold" -- alongside the Samsung u900 "FlipShot." The ultra-cool LG Voyager and G'zOne "Type-Sptt" (possibly just a Type-S without the cam) slide in on November 18, with two new VX8550 shades dropping on the 21st. Whew! Now, the real question: how many of these dates are actually gonna hold?

Seems consistent with what we've been told already. The only minor changes seem to be the i760 having some date, and the Juke moving down a couple days. So it goes.
Wouldn't "Type-Sptt" indicate a "Type S" with
"ptt" or push to talk, rather than without camera? (although it might be camera-less as well).
I would have expected ptt on them before now with their great durability for construction and other work.
I even bought one for my 12 year old - who promptly went swimming with it since he didn't want it to get stolen! Good as new once the battery was charged again!
WTF, what about the xv6800 and Libra?
Oh, would you shut up? You sound like some guy straight from a Halo 3 match. A bunch of products get released, and you complain because a product you have probably never even touched, let alone used is not among them. Please.
Hey now "!!!"... I'm upset that the xv6800 isn't on that list either! I mean, what a freaking joke that Verizon can't get this phone to release! AT&T has the freaking "Tilt" already and Verizon can't even get me a gall darn full QWERTY, WinMo6, HTC Camera Slider?
Can Verizon please stop the c*ck tease and let us know it's never coming? At one point or another we heard "October" from Engadget "insiders", unless it is not on the list because it is being released before 10/19, ((please let it be so)) ???
I mean we first heard about this phone coming to Verizon in October of LAST YEAR!!!
I've said it before and I will say it again... "I am getting dangerously close to jumping ship." Now, if I can only find a way to confirm signal strength and consistancy of AT&T signals at my home...
Verizon obviously knows something that neither Alltel or Sprint knows. Its a good thing that we have them protecting the network.
Verizon is a collective waste of skin. With regards to the unmentioned, unreleased and disavowed xv6800, two other providers have had the phone with customers for months. When pressed for reasons of the holdup, the phone is claimed to have "failed testing." What super-secret ultra-sensitive testing is Verizon conducting that a perfectly functional CDMA phone fails? It is ridiculous assertion that insults the intelligence of the company's users.
Verizon has put loads of money into their "Network" which, up until now, has been the best and they have made it known. However, Sprint and AT&T are catching up and Alltel already uses Verizon's network. This incessant loyalty to "the Network" is going to get Verizon nowhere fast if they cannot back up their network with adequate phones to satisfy their user base. While it is laughable to Verizon to care about the singular users on a blog or board threatening to leave (or actually leaving) it is well known that the slow drip of water eventually erodes the boulder. Verizon would be well suited to at least catch up with its competitors and not gives its users a reason to leave. At this point, there are plenty of areas of the US where AT&T and Sprint have equal or better network service; once people learn that fact, Verizon will not have much to retain its users, especially if they are extorting large service from its customer base for use of the almighty "Network."
Like I tell people, Verizon and Comcast are almost identical parallels to each other. Comcast charges sorceror's wages for their service, and they say they have better HD quality than satellite. Boo hoo. I've seen Direct TV and Dish in HD, and my eyes can't tell the difference. Only thing that Comcast has to offer is On Demand and PowerBoost for their HSD. I don't think those two are worth it for what they charge.
Verizon OTOH, is almost the same. They charge a hefty fee for their BroadBand Access and BB plans, but Sprint charges less and is faster. VCast and Get It Now is a joke. They keep the teeny bopper crowd happy with the Chocolate, enV and anything LG puts out - not the power users. Just like how Comcast gets sheep to sign up with On Demand. Verizon also cripples their phones to effectively force you to use GIN/VCast which is BS. A SONG on VCast is $2-3, while on iTunes it's just $1. They make HUGE profit off the teeny boppers they target so well with the Chocolate and enV. And they brag about SMS/MMS like it's the hottest thing. Well HELLO I've texted in high school 6 years ago!
Hell, Verizon should buy out Comcast. They are pretty much the same.
Here's a question, Doug Tondro: Why do you so desperately need an OS that's certainly faulty and a QWERTY keypad the size of a credit card?
Swiped from yesterday's post on Boy Genius report.

ugh. sometimes I can't read properly.
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE VOYAGER
and you people need to stop complaining,
no matter what verizon does (or any other carrier) you complain and call them the worst carrier.
What about the Motorola Z6c??? Everything I have heard up until now says next month, but it appears to be absent from this list.
the z6tv is out already -- whats the z6c?
I'm not holding my breath. I'm pretty Jaded like most Verizon customers. We've all been waiting for a new smartphone like the 6800 (or that new samsung FFS). I DO find Verzions strategy fascinating though: delay phones so they'll be ready for the Christmas rush a year and a half later...
Regaurding the I760 and XV6800. The I760 will be mid oct release for business customers and first week of November for everyone else. That will bring Verizon up to the lead for having WinMo6 devices out (including Q9M). AT&T was the last carrier to get a WinMo6 device out and was a full month behind VZW. XV6800 is supposed to be Rev A Capable from what I am told which will be worth the wait for me, the other devices are Rev 0. Verizon Wireless has never released any information on an upcoming release date for the XV6800, if you want to get pissed get pissed at Engadget for speculating so much. But that is what Engadget is here for, news and speculation. Take release dates on here with a grain of salt.
Notice that the Voyager says 1000, and not 10000. Is this fake?
It looks fake to me, as far as the spreadsheet goes, because I havent ever even seen a spreadsheet for this. The release dates DO match the information that we have available and what has been put here before, but the spreadsheet itself looks made up by BGR.
Does anyone know if the Venus will have the ability to sync with Outlook?
