About time they pulled their thumb out and brought touch to S60 (loving it on the N800/770 and even the old 7710).

I'm pretty pleased that they've given the option to use a stylus as this is one of my minor annoyances with the iPhone/iPod Touch. Also the haptic feedback is a great feature, again a minor annoyance from the Apple devices.

Still, one thing Nokia still haven't got right is marketing. I mean how cheesy was that video!! The twinkle in the girls eye at the end? Come on.

Anyway I'll now leave this thread to the iPhone fans who'll probably have a field day with this ;)

Tarek

Comments on Nokia's S60 Touch Interface demonstrated

Man, I thought the N95 was GOD of all phones. After seeing this, and if this phone has the same specs as the N95 but touch screen. This will be "GOD" of all phones. Apple fans, Iphone won't be able to compare to this phone. Man I can't wait to this phone comes out! Sign me up NOKIA!!!!! NOKIA as usual "ROCKS"

roe

Comments on Nokia's S60 Touch Interface demonstrated

Looks like the iPhone haters beat the iPhone fanatics to the punch...

Tarek

Comments on Nokia's S60 Touch Interface demonstrated

Yes, I so agree with you about the marketing GREAT phones from nokia. If nokia can market there phones like Apple did then I think Nokia will have a much better chance selling alot more phones in the future. They should do some great marketing on this touch screen phone in the future when it comes out. Compare with Apples IPhone on TV then they will totally "ROCK"!! Hopefully Nokia will learn to be a much better marketing on there "HIGH END" phones in the future.

roe

Comments on Nokia's S60 Touch Interface demonstrated

Wow, So Nokia finally stepped up their game. This is exactly what the market needs, something to hold Apple accountable and get them on the ball. The only proof that it's tactile is a voice saying so. No wonder Apple makes a killing. They need something that really shows what it's like, a killer video like Jeff Han's multi-touch demo, or something on that level. A video with a close-up showing the screen actually making bumps for tactile feedback would be the difference between unveiling the next Jesus Phone versus yet another footnote at CES.

Philip Dhingra
