Star NX788 mobile holds your BT headset for you
It's not like we haven't seen this idea -- or a close alternative, actually -- conjured up before, but apparently, the Star NX788 is actually taking things beyond the drawing board. This handset features a convenient cubbyhole for your Bluetooth headset, meaning that you'll no longer have to shove it in your pocket only to find all sorts of lint and bacteria clinging on when you chose to use it again. Additionally, the unit sports dual SIM card slots, Chinese handwriting input, a microSD expansion slot, Bluetooth / A2DP support, integrated 1.3-megapixel camera, and a 2.6-inch 320 x 240 touchscreen display. Yeah, we think it looks a little gimmicky too, but those enamored by all this added utility can snag one overseas for around $190.

WND(WIND) has a phone like this already. Their model is called the Van Gogh, I believe. cool thought, but I''m sure with the compartment being opened every time you want to put your headset away, the cover will become loose and you'll most likely lose your headset anyways. :D
Huzzah! Another of my invention ideas stolen, but this time I don't mind. It's an excellent and necessary step. Inevitable, too, I say. I'd like to see a more of a springloaded idea. Much like you insert and remove an SD card, you'd slide a wee earpiece into a hole (that is covered by a door when empty) and it'd click into place. Push again to disengage it back out. No manual door needed.
Meh. I wonder why people ignore innovations from China. Dual sims aren't useful in the locked, closed US cell phone environment but they bloody handy if you move around a lot - Hong Kong to mainland China (just a card swipe away these days), and oh I don't know, Switzerland Germany? I'm not really sure how things work there.
