Hooray!!!! Now lets hope for a release next week!!! Please Verizon...
you mean...next year right???
when did we see the first pictures of the XV6800....At least 6 months ago...if not earlier...I went into a VZW store yesterday and they told me they still didn't have a release date. (although I know it.)
@ terrance
we saw it first about a year ago
@ Terrance
So, you know the release date? Quit being a party pooper and tell all will ya?!!
I just hope that it's not an on-line only deal... I want to handle it first... I know it's going to be a lot of coin to take it home when it finally gets here.
There is no release date for the phone yet.
If Terrence did know the release date he would have spilled it by now. He knows nothing. All we can do is speculate at this point.
Wish it had something other than WinMo on it.
I wish this phone had wifi, but regardless i still think ill pick it up...its great for people who dont need a hardcore pda phone but want the added benefits of win mo
"Like the XV6800, but not"
What part of this phone is like the XV6800? It has a numeric keypad on the front, Windows Mobile 6 Standard (meaning no touchscreen), and a physical appearance that - even without the numeric pad - bears no resemblance.
Oh yeah, and as Brad pointed out, it has no WiFi either.
Very similar to the XV6800 indeed!
I wouldn't expect this phone with Verizon any earlier than at least May 2008. And that's a generous guess ;)
Chris Ziegler....What the heck are you trying to say in this posting???
Someone should edit the editor!
...Too much eggnog perhaps?
What parts are you having trouble with?
Chris
How is this like the xv6800? Well, it's a UTStarcom slide-out qwerty Windows Mobile PDA/Smartphone. I'd say that's similarity enough. It's supposed to be a step down from the 6800, not identical.
when i called verizon about it, they told me that the release date was december 5th for the vx6800 for 599 at the contract price
I'd be really suprised if this XV5800 (Libra) comes out before AT&T's SMT5700 (Vox). Either way US carriers have really dropped the ball in bring this one to the states. I just don't understand why there always seems to be a year lead time for the European & Asian nations.
Any chance this will have Windows Mobile 6.1 on it?
(bwaahaaahaahahhahh...haaaaaa...ha.....er.....ohhhhhh verizon and your testing...killing me...)
