T-Mobile set to launch HTC Touch Dual as MDA "Touch Plus"

It was only a matter of time til T-Mobile's answer to Orange's Touch Dual arrived, and it has, in the form of the MDA "Touch Plus". Thankfully, T-Mobile has also opted for the 16-key layout, and aside from the obvious branding we don't expect any surprises -- by surprises, we mean, anything new -- in the device. Word from Paul at MoDaCo is that Orange has some type of exclusivity deal, so don't hold your breath if you were hoping to gift yourself this holiday season. What's wrong with the 20-key Sure-type style layout? I have that on the T-Mobile Shadow and it is excellent! Way better than a full Qwerty or numeric keypad for entering text (especially one handed). See my review here: http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=reviews&id=1009
I'd rather have a full qwerty thumb keyboard. Or split qwerty (like the wibrain, pepperpad 3, samsung q1 series, or the old nokia 3300).
The Shadow type keypad looks ... awkward.
But I agree, the worst is using a the standard 12 button phone keypad for typing text.
I thought that I would like the full Qwerty on my Kaiser better and fully expected the 20 key layout on the Shadow to be awkward, but I was really surprised to see myself easily carrying out instant message conversations one-handedly while carrying groceries with the other hand. Obviously you can't do that with a split Qwerty or even some of the smaller Qwertybar phones like the Blackjack.
so is this a hint that tmo is going to roll 3g soon? look at this page in the manual...

a few days ago, engadget had a blurb that 1 week from today, T-mobile is having a big announcement. I'm hoping (and engadget was speculating) that that's going to be the day of their 3G announcement.
As for this phone... is it a dual slider? (like the helio ocean)
Bah, this is T-Mobile UK/Europe. You guys had me shocked.
Yeah- Engadget should really have given the news that it was UK they were talking about. I was excited too because my wife is starting to think about a smartphone, but hates everything (understandably) on the market now because none are really user friendly.
I agree with the confusion of "which" TMobile you're talking about. Way too many USA readers that think your title refers to TMobile USA. I was getting encouraged, as well, that TMobile USA was finally getting off their a**es.

The only clue that I can tell in this article that tells you this is Europe is "Orange" and it's also missing a period at the end of the paragraph.
So this phone isnt gonna b available 4 T-mobile USA?
I don't get why anybody would give up thinner for a 12 key keypad... but I guess it's nice those who want it will have the option.
