Palm Treo 755p goes live (at last) on Verizon, costs more
Here's a special present to those Palm diehards out there that've been sticking with their Verizon service for the past months, hoping against hope that Palm will notice them hanging out over on the largest CDMA network in the States: the Verizon Treo 755p costs $400 with a two year contract, a full $150 more than you'll pay over on Sprint. The $400 price is after a $50 mail-in rebate, but if you play your cards right and spring for the right data plan you can get the final price down to $300. Obviously there's nothing new on the hardware end of things -- other than that ultra-fancy new paint job and Verizon logo -- so at least you folks know what you're getting yourselves into. Oh, and from the looks of things, this is that unnamed device Palm teased about earlier this month. Sorry to disappoint.

yet another reason why at&t is better then verizon...we released the palm treo 680 which is no diffrent then the 755, and we have already stopped selling the 680...wow.
Except the 680 isn't a 3G device. So yeah, it actually is different.
And what are you talking about AT&T not selling the 680 anymore? It's on their online store right now -- both brand new and refurb.
You're kinda pointing out the obvious, Mark Richardson: of course they're different. The general idea was the GSM equivalent is already nearing the end of its being discontinued.
And tsmith, you judge how much better a carrier is than another by its Palm offerings? A bit of a flawed scale, eh?
There is a $100 Advance Data Discount when you get unlimited data.
There is a $100 New Every 2 Discount.
There is a $50 Mail-In Rebate.
Total price is $200 not $300
wow, way to stay on the cutting edge VZW
http://freepctech.blogspot.com/
HEY, VZW IS DEFINITELY ON THE CUTTING EDGE! They've released the umm....Treo 755p...and the VX6800...and the LG iPhone-like contraption...
And they're opening their network, so there!

Sorry, VZW, I tried but you guys are working with dull knives, here.
oops my fault what i meant to say was that most retail stores have quit carrying the treo 680, the only one you can currently purchase in stores is the 750...atleast it is in the area that i am, treo 680's are hard to come buy unless they are bought online, the store i currently work at quit offering those around end of october start of nov.
Hmm, interesting to know. Maybe they've gotten rid of the 680 to prepare for the GSM version of the Centro.
i've heard rumors of the HTC Touch coming to Verizon early in '08. has anyone else heard that or have any idea of when it might release?
Umm, even if that rumor was officially announced by VZW, take it with a grain of salt. Let's just say they aren't that good at meeting deadlines, though I must commend them for releasing devices in the same year they say they would--regardless of how many months are in between the original release date and the actual one.
This is sooo 2005.
so what is the next great pda phone from verizon? anything in the near future?
the next big great pda phone from verzion will be the blackberry curve..lol....and im guessing they wont have that until the summer time, and by then the new rim phones will already be out. verzion has great coverage hands down, i cant argue that but when it comes to phones and what consumers want, they are lost at sea
tsmith81 is me just to let you guys know who i have already spoke with, ...just for those who have treo's currently with at&t , palm is going to be releasing software updates on the 680 and 750 devices.
