I want, hopefully will get it this weekend. If you're on sprint, this is the only phone like it. Okay, it's generic to those of you with real phone providers. But I couldn't justify another $10 a month on the bill to switch providers. My wife got a Katana 2, and I think this'll be a step up from my LG pm-325.
Look for anyone to say AT&T is a leading provider has there head way up the Iphone's ass and hasn't seen the light of day in a while there EDGE service is around a year or more behind EVDO and Sprint REV O which will be replaced this year with something even faster. As Far as T-Mobile there are not offered all over the US like AT&T Sprint and Verizon so there out of the running too. So that leaves Sprint and Verizon and in this battle it comes down to one big factor for consumers and that would be price. For 450 minutes with nationwide coverage and nights starting at 7pm on sprint its 39.99 a month and 10 for unlimited text but with Verizon its 59.99 so thats 10 a month savings which would be 240 extra in your pocket off the bat then if you have a family plan. So to me Sprint is one of the best company. Yea they have there problems but so does every company in the US.
I had cellphones when they used to be carryons.I have been with sprint for 8 years.I travel across the US and I do not have problems with reception but I hate their phone style.Please get some nokia and motorolas.
I want to buy the samsung m520 in May of this year when I get a rebate.If anyone can tell me about this phone I would really appreciate it.Thanks.
wow, another craptastic phone from Sprint. They're always on the trailing end of new phones. (I can say that; I've had sprint since '99)
Who is on the leading edge? Inquiring minds would like to know.

I think every other company, T-Mobile, at&t, Verizon Wireless, other than Sprint are in the leading edge. Sprint blows. And I have been with them since 2002.
Luigi, I've heard the same complaints being mentioned about for EVERY carrier - yes, even AT&T customers are unhappy about their phone selection. T-Mobile gets cheap Samsungs, Verizon gets phones late and cripples them, et cetera.
Oh well.
OMG. So, tell me, do 3 dozen colors on the same phone make that company a better provider? I remember someone talking about how AT&T was the leader in the wireless phone model market. Someone else fired back saying, "not really they just have the same phones just in many different colors." From what I've seen in the stores, they are right. Sprint's phone might not give a geek a hardon but they do work and work well. The M520, replacing the m500 series is a welcome model and I'm sure the battery will last much longer.

I would say AT&T for nationwide US carriers. But none of them are leading edge compared to europe.

sprint is becoming a strictly consumer-minded cellular company. honestly, the flashy phones don't appeal to everyone. the lg rumor, muziq, and sanyo katana dlx, and palm centro are affordable mid to high end phones. and (as a sprint rep) the sales of these phones are looking a lot better for sprint this year as opposed to last year, they don't carry the flashiness of The Venus, The Shadow, or The I-Phone but they definatly carry the needs of the customer. and thats what this phone will do. it'll be another one of sprints smart moves that sells phones.
i agree with michael. although the phone is not exciting compared to the wonderful world of gsm, it will definately handle the needs of the general consumer.
the most important thing you have to note is that sprint does not have any other phones like this right now. this is the only qwerty-less slider option at this time.
dam guys why couldn't i see this befor i got this phone? i feel so bad now :(
