The K850 accepts both, so it's possible this one might as well. Their form factor is virtually identical so there isn't really a reason why it couldn't. I don't see why people complain so much about the M2 sticks so much. Yeah you have to buy them off ebay or Amazon, but since when is point and click ordering that much of a hassle? I'm no fan of Sony proprietary anything, but considering all major phone makers are supposedly moving to a unified flash memory format in the next two years anyway, I'm not really concerned about it in the meantime.
That would be fantastic if it would accept both like the K850, but I'm not holding my breath given SE's history with flash memory.
If the major hassle would be having to buy a memory stick from the internet, it would be a non-issue. The usability of the memory stick comes into question when you have to lug around an adapter because none of your devices or your friends' devices are sony.
On that same note, I could harp on sony's proprietary connector for hours.
I'm looking forward to the unified memory format, but once again it means having to buy all new memory cards... and 2 years is a very long time in the mobile industry.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
now if only they could exchange that cr@ptastic proprietary sony memory stick for a microsd, i might actually seriously consider buying it.
