I just ordered a red Centro, and now a pink one is coming! Oh well. I wanted to hop on the free messaging promotion that expires today, and I can always exchange my phone for the pink one if the pink one goes on sale in January. :-)
Palm really does seem to be aiming the Centro at women, almost exclusively so. It's nice to see women featured in Palm ads instead of the usual young white male professional, but they're running the risk of alienating male buyers who, for whatever reason, need a "man's mobile." But hey, maybe that's how Palm plans to convince people to spend three times as much for a Treo with the same features. :-D
And robinsmad, don't take it personally. It's not like they're questioning you specifically - they're just serving it with "the usual grain of salt" that they include with anything non-official. And it's not like they could know what SKUs have been in Sprint's systems for months now. A pink Centro makes a lot of sense, but it's not official, so it still could be canceled or delayed. Hell, Palm's been known to cancel compelete, ready-to-ship products (RIP Foleo), so...

I didn't take it personally. But several gadget blogs are crediting me, and I don't care to steal anyone's thunder.
