AT&T says SIM-only service available contract free, 2-year plan was a mistake

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
I cannot find anywhere a mention of this on AT&T's web site. Does anyone have a specific URL I can go to for this?
I called AT&T and you can only do this at a store, it is not available online or by phone. Hope they finally got the word out to the store reps! I'm going to try tomorrow.
thank you at&t. i'll forgive the 5GB limit, the 'rumor' that pay per use text message charges are going up to 20 cent, the bloatware you put on all handsets sold by you and the utter lack of open java access on those same handsets. Ol' Stan must have came by and paid you guys a visit and laid the smack down...
have they passed the news to their sales reps cause i just tried to activate my new nokia and some chick told me that i had to sign a contract if i wanted a postpaid account with them
If you dont sign a contract then you dont get the m2m feature. its a promotional feature with a contract of some sort. read the fine print in one of their flyers
wow i can dig the no contract, sim only thing....hmm....
nope they haven't said anything about this to us. i work in a corporate store, and they we just got training today on the new rate plans. i rely on engadget to find out everything.
Can anyone tell me if you can do this online? or just in store?
I haven't found the option online.
You can online but at the moment they are sold out
You can do this at a store. The no contract option was added to the activation process last week. Reps may not want to do this because they don't get paid on anything but a 2 yr contract activation.
As far as M2M, all plans (contract or no contract) are now eligible for the m2m feature. It's not considered promotional anymore.
Pay per use is going up effective March 1st. Text= .20, Picture= .30
Is this only a GoPhone thing? I only find it there?
I want regular monthly plans/services with no contract
