Funny you should say that. I'm an Industrial Design Engineering student, and I'm studying "the influences of Japan and zen-buddhist principles on modern design" right now. One of these zen design principles is Kanso, simplicity. I agree that none of these desings really breathes simplicity. None except the W61P. I really like that one.

If you notice, none of the mobile phones above use monoblock or candy-bar design. It must be bad luck in Japan to use simple designs. :)
