Come get your Touch Cruise: Xda Orbit 2 now available from O2
It's bad enough that we're getting teased with the HTC Touch Cruise from afar, but to hardened customers in the US, the fact that O2's offering the Xda Orbit 2 for as little as £0 is just icing on the hate cake. The phone looks arguably even better in O2's very customized trim, too, sporting a glossy black case in which to stuff its 3 megapixel camera, GPS, 256MB of ROM, and WiFi. Were it not for the 2100MHz-only HSDPA, we'd be liable to smuggle a few across the pond, we reckon.[Via CoolSmartPhone]

Slick device...and alas, it is only European 3G. Why does no one care about US 3G?
comes with crippled 3d hardware at no extra charge!
includes crippled 3d acceleration free of charge!

Most likely because the US market is very much locked to only a few carriers, who control what gets released to the market. I don't imagine there is a large market for people who travel between continents on a regular basis to justify the extra cost (? maybe) of the other bands. Nokia is so far one of the only manufacturers trying to market directly in the US and they are not doing so great.
I'll bet U.S. 3G is on there but no "enabled". Just like the HTC Touch is "TriBand" right?
Heading to Germany this fall... seriously considering picking one of these up while I'm over there. I love the Touch Cruise, but the default design is ugly compared to this sexy handset!
What's the status with the 3d acceleration and video driver issues plaguing all HTC's other devices? Does it affect this too? Methinks very likely...
anything called CRUISE has got to go... IM TALKING TO YOU TOMMY!!!
Call it... Touch "driveby" instead
IMHO most of the O2 devices are the best looking HTC remakes of them all.
nice to see that O2 gave the thing a nice face lift which was definitely needed

I agree O2 does make the best looking remakes. Too bad HTC are too arrogant to release video drivers. I wonder what the screen size is. Oh I bet I can guess, 2.8" anyone??
this Baby is available from o2 since mid december - and i already used it in the US with AT&T HSDPA
