No wonder Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 is so good: HTC makes it

OMG i'm not sure i even care who makes it this phone is gorgeous. can SE overtake Nokia with their newfound partnership with WinMo?
Yeah, I hate Sony (nothing against Ericsson) but I am very interested in this phone to replace my Dash later this year. Being an HTC is a plus, unless they are looking for another model to put a Ti OMAP 200MHz clocked at 180MHz in.
Does this mean there will be no proper graphics chip drivers?
You beat me to it, hahaha.
So I guess these old unfunny "no drivers" jokes aren't going anywhere eh.
And the next reply to this will be, "not until we get them fixed!"
I tried to get my punch in also for those video drivers.
OH NO! please don't let HTC provide service, took 90 days to fix my Tilt.... Will have to buy from the carrier to ensure proper service.
I have been a Sony Ericsson fan since the T610. After that, I've had 3 more SEs but THIS right here is what I've been waiting for all this time. I dont care if HTC makes it, I think its better than any HTC branded phones
i'm in the same SE lover's boat you're in bud. love 'em or hate 'em... Sony Ericsson's a growing boy. =D
Gotta LMAO at those professing such dear love for HTC today. Yes, the same HTC that all the geeks were paranoid-schizophrenic about less than 2 years ago about such a "secretive, controlling company". Puuuleeaaase!!
who says it's good? we haven't seen it yet. sure the faked up video with the model looks good, but the actual "in the wild" shot is pretty drab. is it really more than just an HTC Tilt with Sony lipstick?
Actually they have two persons on their booth demoing the thing, and it DOES look pretty awesome. I'm talking about the hardware. They refuse to demo apps on it, they admit they're too buggy and not ready yet (even for a demo where they wouldn't let you handle the phone even one second). And their "Xperia UI" is nothing more than a glorified Today screen from what I've seen: the fancy stuff you see on the pictures are just shortcuts to different screens (custom Home/Today screens mostly, it seemed), but beyond that you'll fall back onto the default WinMob UI pretty quickly.
All in all I can't wait for HTC to release their own version. Heh.
it can't possibly be made by htc - it actually looks nice and has a high-res screen
great so how much of a premium do i get to pay for se's version of the tilt?
i'm glad they didn't go the nokia route though and make xp1-1 for europe and six months later xp1-23RMM@%5352349 for america
My wife used to use a Samsung (touchscreen w/ stylus) with Windows Mobile on it, not sure of the version. Very uninteresting and slow to get to were you want. The Xperia is a 'sexy' looking phone, even more so than my iphone, but Windows Mobile, bah. Also, it is going to be released a whole year after the iphone (it took them that long to copy and see what people didn't like about it). Let's if Apple is smart enough to release the 2nd generation iphone around xperia's release date.
But.. no one DID ask you.
Delayed till October, 2009???
