If you're tired of shelling out laptop prices for your WiFi smartphone browsing,
Boingo's got help on the way. At Mobile World Congress the company announced Sony Ericsson and iPhone / iPod touch versions of its connection client software, with the SE version to show up in the second half of the year, and the iPhone software to hit as soon as Boingo can get a hold of the SDK. Boingo already has Nokia and Windows Mobile-compatible versions of its software, but with 6 percent of users attempting to connect to Boingo already rocking an iPhone, it looks like this software can't come soon enough.
ok so what does this exactly do?!
Basically, gives you free wireless at most of their "listed" locations including airports all over the world, McDonalds, hotels, etc. I've found it generally not that useful after a trip through Japan.
However, their mobile service is messed up and went ahead and billed me during the 30-day FREE trial with similarly unresponsive email support.
Actually, I have 2 iPhones and I live out in a very rural area in CA and I am trying to figure out how to get Wi Fi service just for the phones so when I am in town - I don't have to go to Panera or Safeway to get internet service...
Anyone got any ideas???
