Motorola chief says it's "committed" to phone biz, MWC lineup could've fooled us
Speaking at a Mobile World Congress reception this week, Motorola's head honcho tried to clarify some pretty vague verbiage released last month suggesting the company could spin off its mobile phone biz, saying that Moto is "fully committed to the mobile devices business." In fact, he even made it personal, going on to say "I am fully committed to mobile devices." What's the irony in all of this? Greg Brown was probably standing just feet away from a sad, forgettable, and largely overlooked trio of MWC introductions from the world's number three phone maker when he made those comments. Gotta pay to play, Greg, and next time around, we suggest you put your hardware where your mouth is.[Via PHONE Magazine]

Sitting here in my cube at mobile devices, I found that incredibly funny.
We're a company with such great potential. It's times like these where you either step up to the plate and knock one out of the park or you hang your head in disgrace, go home and veg out on the couch for the next 50 years of your life. I'm doing my best to make sure it's the former.
Get off you hiney's Moto and get the 2008 linup out there! We all know the US cell phone provider's are crushing your business but there are a lot of us that buy unlocked/unbranded phone's regardless of the provider model assuming they are cool/robust enough to warrant it.
