Blackberry outage shows that RIM learned nothing in 2007
As with RIM's April 2007 outage, the latest downtime has been officially blamed on a flawed software upgrade. According to RIM, the millions left without email can lift their kinked neck and point a crippled digit at an "internal data routing system within the BlackBerry service infrastructure that had been recently upgraded." This upgrade, like the one in 2007, was meant to boost capacity and speed message routing. Right, the same issue which RIM assured us had been resolved last April.

My iphone is working and never has an Outage. LOL! (Laughing at RIM users)
Didn't AT&T have a massive data outage just this past week or so?
Nope, not on the east cost and if they did, guess who were affected AGAIN. RIM USERS, LOL! pwnd. With an unlocked iphone, i can just pull the sim out of my Dead tmobile RIM device and put it in the iphone and off I go. No carrier switch could have helped the RIM device.
Yes, AT&T did have a massive data outage on the east coast (just not for as long as other parts of the country were affected). I have also had all my AT&T service go out (voice & data) at some point in early/mid December for a couple hours. That was a more localized area in midtown Manhattan, where there are probably only about 10 million people on a weekday afternoon.
I'm OK with my AT&T service, but all the people saying "this never happens to my iPhone" are full of it.

LOL I'm an Apple Fanboi who has nothing better to do than cut down everyone else!
I have a windoze PC but an opportunity presented itself so I jumped all over it. I'd do it from my Blackberry but it's probably DOWN. LOL! How do you like that Sucka.
OK, now my comments are back but the others are deleted. Engadget, what's going on? Is RIM hosting your comment board on there shoddy Blackberry servers. LOL
wow, you are...really not smart.
My curve was fine out here in NY. Your icon is a RIM device. Maybe you should look into fixing that.
Dataoutages.com was rocking during that outage, they were keeping everyone subscribed informed and I bet the call centers were happy since they may not have been getting as many calls as to what was going down.
Funny thing about this last "outage"... I was up and running the whole time with VZW in Minneapolis, and a friend of mine was also up and running the whole time with TMO in Lawrence, KS. Overall, the RIM BlackBerry network is still the most secure and reliable means of mobile email and data. Need I remind the iPhone fanboys here that ATT has had a fair number of EDGE outages since the iPhone came out 8 months ago.
Stop sucking up to apple loser.
The thing about it is this. I have both an iPhone and Curve. George has nothing better to do because his iPhone can not be expanded past what it came with. He's bored. I used the iPhone for months and loved it. But took the opportunity to use an upgrade and try out a BlackbBerry. I figured why not. I still have my iPhone. After using the Curve for a week I found that I was making more money as a salesman. Plus I had a ton of programs I could mess with. GPS is great. And with an 8gb memory card I have as much music on my phone as my 13 year old friend here on the board. I personally have not needed to pick up my iPhone since the switch.
This is not a shot at the iPhone, I love it and am waiting for Apple to get their crap together. But seriously George, your comments didn't even come across as fun & competitive. Sorry to say it, but kind of young and ignorant.
