Touchpad turns your iPhone into a remote trackpad
Just when you think you've seen the iPhone perform its last magic trick (making you eggs benedict, solving the inverse Galois problem, a brief appearance on Dancing With the Stars) something like this comes along to make your jaw drop just a little bit more. Touchpad for the iPhone is built on top of VNsea, but instead of allowing you to navigate your desktop on the device, it becomes what is essentially a wireless, remote trackpad, which gives you direct access to your system as if you were using a mouse or touch device for input. It sounds interesting in description, but looks amazing in execution -- check the video after the break to see what it does, then go get the app loaded up and try it yourself.

I am finally impressed with the iPhone
So the iPhone is an amazing device. I thought the whole world knew that already.
Next logical step would be to utilize the iphone keyboard interface to act as an input to the remote PC. Who's with me on this one?
OMG....not only do I SECOND that, but I third AND fourth that...
That is a hell of an idea
Its hilarious to see people so excited over an obvious application of a touch-screen device which has been available on other platforms like WM for ages already. This has been done many times already, but I guess everything is new with the iPhone.
Show me how I can do this on my Touch. I don't believe you.
How about this app from >> 2003
How about this app from -- 2003 -- which not only does the touchpad thing, but also an onscreen keyboard, or use handwriting recognition, and does not require you to run VNC on your PC.

Next we will hear about how you can extend your desktop onto an iPhone, and use it as a 2nd monitor, and the blog-O-sphere will go orgasmic while Apple catches up with being 10 years behind.

This was a neat idea.... back in 1999 when I did it on my Palm IIIx.
What is the call quality like on that Palm IIIx?
i dont think its so much as its a new app but that its just another innovative idea with the iphone. im assuming it will even able to support all the multi touch stuff that'll be coming out soon. ( a few steps above the macbook air )
These comments are just oozing with sarcasm, you guys are so funny!
i was able to do this with my t616 like 5 YEARS AGO! way to jump on board iphone. i second Surur.
