Sony Ericsson says XPERIA X1 is still on track for this year

It looks like those eagerly waiting to get their hands on Sony Ericsson's HTC-made XPERIA X1 can rest a little easier, as the much anticipated apparently is still on track for release in the second half of this year, and not in February 2009 as recently rumored. That word comes straight from Sony Ericsson Corporate Vice President of the Global Communications Aldo Liguori, who told the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog that "I can confirm that we will be launching the X1 product in 2nd Half of 2008, as per our announcement of 10th February." That sure is about as definitive as you can get, though we're guessing there's plenty of folks out there that think any date other than tomorrow is too long to wait.

don't care about it anymore, now that i know HTC is making it...they have such crappy service it is not worth the grief.
Crappy service? What do you mean? HTC makes bad devices or their customer service sucks?
Either way I don't think it's an issue as this will be an SE device in the end. I think SE just needed more hardware production lines.
I don't understand why is a SONY Product being made by HTC. Aren't they competing companies?
I would care about this phone if it ran Symbian or something.

Wow! This will absolutely be THE coolest device to get! I saw it in Barcelona and it's amazing what Sony Ericsson has build on the Windows Mobile OS...
All I want to know is: where is the P5i announcement?
Good to hear that the Xperia is still on track. It looks like its going to make a big splash in the smartphone world, I mean, the design is great, the interface is gorgeous and it has a full QWERTY keyboard.

That's super... for global release... but when will it make it to the good ol US of A?
