For T-Mobile USA it does not matter -- you'll be limited to GSM/EDGE anyway. If you don't plan on switching to AT&T, stick with the international version (N95-2) - at least that will let you get 3G coverage abroad. (In fact, this is the only flavor that would work at all in Japan, since they don't use 2G/GSM networks there).
