LG VX9700 looks to be Verizon's Prada-like touchscreen phone
Can't leave the comforts of your speedy, reliable network, but aren't ready to carry the brick-like Voyager to appease that touchscreen hankering? Verizon might finally have a solution with the LG VX9700, which just passed the FCC. The above leaked image of the phone shows it to be similar to LG's Prada phone, but apparently there's no designer branding to be had here -- just like AT&T's upcoming Prada-inspired LG Vu. Other than that, erm, innovative menu, rumored infos include a 3.2 megapixel camera, micro USB, microSDHC, and an on-screen QWERTY keyboard for text input. Word is the phone was slated for the end of the month, but now might be delayed until April. We suppose we'll be finding out soon enough.

looks sweet!
That looks awesome!
For added awesomeness, no VZW UI.
iPhone competitor ! !
Shocking, devastating, incredible, WOW.
wow...... this is mind blowing! ....not really.... maybe for CDMA users its a great idea, but not really seeing a big deal with this one.
Not sure I get the touchscreen mania now. There was a time in the late 90s early 00s when all pdas were touchscreen only. You paid to get an actual keyboard as an addon for those device. And then finally the demand was high enough to include full keyboards on the majority of models. I just find it odd, not a big fan of the touchscreen only device. Same with computers, a mouse/keyboard > touchscreen only. Tablet computers never really caught on. That is the genious of Apple marketing though, kudos to them.
this looks sick. can't wait to get my hands on it.
First the Glyde and now this. Damn you Verizon and damn you Sprint for not following suit smh.
Touchscreens are certainly nothing new. I've been using one since the early 90's (gave up my Newton for a Palm). The advantage of touchscreen in this case is size - this thing is THIN. I'm very interested for that very reason. I'm so hoping that it has a virtual full KB, tho' -- the original Prada had a virtual T9 (why??) The ATT has the full qwerty though, so here's hoping. [guys - its virtual - put in both!]
Before the discussion starts - this is not an iPhone rip-off. It actually came out, or was announced, (as the Prada) before the iPhone.
It would be nice if that screen is glass instead of that crap thin plastic membrane seen on the Voyager and Venus.
does anyone have a release date on this? or any other upcoming vzw release dates?
This phone is sweet. I hope it has a full keyboard that is horizontal and not vertical. Also I wish it would come with a lot of internal memory.
Why does every1 compare any touch-screen to the iphone. Each phone has its own special purpose. I wonder if it has autofocus because it sounds like a great camera
