There are now four different versions of the n95, all with different firmware versions and capabilities. Knowing if an app, besides the most basic (and I do mean basic) s60 app will work on a particular n95 is a bit of a crap shoot. Nokia needs to get serious and provide consistent updates to their too-long list of devices before they are considered on the same tier as the iPhone and others. After all, these devices cost as much as a notebook computer.

huh

Comments on Nokia announces N95 8GB NAM availability; we already knew

Amen to that. I can't see myself paying almost $800 for a phone, when it doesn't have a keyboard and not a customizable at a winmo device. For $800, I can get a laptop, skype phone, and a psp, and most likely a liver transplant, (LOL). You get my point. I would definitely wait until the price drops to around $500.

Robert

Comments on Nokia announces N95 8GB NAM availability; we already knew

I don't quite agree, the n95 at least has a high quality camera that distinguishes it from any other "smartphone" (if that's important to you) but Nokia needs to get serious about providing a supported, consistent platform if they want to be taken seriously.

huh

Comments on Nokia announces N95 8GB NAM availability; we already knew

Living in a Europe and getting N95 8GB free with 2 year contract and having two N95's(N95 and N95i aka N95 8GB) sure makes me wonder why N95 even sells what it sells in NA ;)
And it really seems that those NA models are Nokia's red headed stepa child's.
