Cricket Wireless offers unlimited data for $35 a month, look ma, no cap
Here's a deal that's pretty tough to beat, Cricket is offering unlimited EVDO Rev. 0 data for only $35 -- after discount -- a month. What do you need to get yourself signed up you ask? The Kyocera KPC650 data card which will set you back $59 after various deals and rebates, willingness to shell out $35 beans for all you can chew data, and a willingness to not sign a contract. Fair, no? Of course, the service's footprint is really limited right now, so if you don't live in Nashville, Spokane, the Central Valley of California, Santa Fe / Albuquerque, or Portland, you can ignore this article. If anybody out there is already hooked up with this seemingly reasonable offer, drop us a line and let us know if you've found any snags. Here's hoping the market expands, really soon now.[Via Gearlog]

I wonder if that means we can expect a similar release from MetroPCS soon. Hopefully it'll be a USB dongle that's compatible with the CradlePoint PHS :-}
I heard UT is coming out with a USB device soon with Cricket.
Although Cricket is a small wireless company, this should raise some eyebrows over at the big boys like Verizon, etc.. They all charge $60/mo for 3G service with a soft cap of 5GB and a 2 year agreement.
You would hope so, but I doubt it. The big providers only now started offering unlimited voice plans (at HIGH prices), something that Cricket has been offering relatively cheaply for a very long time now.
The thing with Cricket is that their coverage is miserable...even in the cities where they claim to offer service. At least that's what I witnessed with every Cricket phone I encountered in the Nashville area.

Or Denver!!
Bah. My company offers unlimited data for $5 a month, no contract, if you have one of our other plans (starting at $25/month, no contract). Cricket is practically non-existent in south texas because we are driving them out of business.
