Motorola "VU30" breaks cover for Verizon
Alright, so maybe we harshed on Motorola for rehashing the original RAZR (or RZR, as the case may be) yet again just a little bit too soon. phoneArena has scored shots of a phone claimed to be a "VU30" destined for Verizon, and while the phone's name probably rings just a little too familiar for LG's comfort, the design language seems distinctly un-Motorola and unlike anything we've really seen with other major manufacturers. It's not a groundbreaking design we're looking at here by any stretch of the imagination, but if Moto's looking at cremating and spreading the ashes of the RAZR look and feel once and for all, we think that's a pretty wise move on the long road to profitability. Not much else is known about the VU30 at the moment, so we'll keep a close eye on the situation.

looks like a big button, big screen phone, probably a phone for grandma and grandpa
The buttons on this phone make it look like it was supposed to go to Sprint but at the last minute they passed.
HUH?
all of Sprint's phone have the same shape and layout of the buttons.
Damn that's butt ugly. I think I'd rather see more RAZR/KRZR/LOOZR designs.
Jitterbug anyone?
actually this isn't anything groundbreaking for moto.. it looks a lot like the U9, which looks a lot like the PEBL U6 from what--2005?
lol @ the haters, it looks fresh, in my opinion. We didn't even saw the exterior.
Agreed. That is an ugly handset. It's a real pity that with all the attractive handsets around, Motorola can't modify any of those designs to create some good-looking handsets for itself. Still, everyone says that the Motorola UI is lousy, so I suppose Moto should just get out of the handset business. The Moto design team must have to work under a lot of restrictions to have such limited creativity. Their designs look so old.
Not fresh looking in my eyes looks like the PEBL.
those buttons will be a b-tch to text on. it is something a little new, but im not sure its good. and the first thing i thought when i saw "vu30" was LG. they better call this the CRCL or something because people will picture LG's first. although other phones have had similar numbers before. how many 9290's and 850's are out there...
Not excited about this one at all. Motorola phones have been nothing short of sucking ass since they launched the RAZR, regardless of the network they are on.
Form and function hold no charm when compared to sales. And as far as I know, the RAZR -- she's still sellin'.
What happened to the story about the phone with the 32800 mAh battery?
