Jabra's BT3030 Bluetooth headset mimics dog tag
Falling somewhere before the BT8010 and BT8040, the BT3030 most definitely takes the crown for clever design. Jabra's latest Bluetooth headset, as you can glean from the image above, was crafted to mimic the traditional dog tag, and specifications wise, you'll find Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, HSP, HFP, A2DP and AVRCP support. Additionally, you'll find six buttons useful for sending / ending calls and controlling music playback, and yes, it will lower the volume when detecting an incoming call from your livid mother-in-law. Ditch that ear critter and pick up something slightly less appalling late next month in Japan (or right now in the US) for ¥8,980 ($90). I've had this for almost 2 months now. I bought it at my local Verizon store and it sounds great! When the earbuds are properly inserted the bass sounds deep. The only thing I don't like is the length of the two wires (for the earbuds), they are different lengths which causes excess wire to flail around. It also could be better with a neck lanyard of some kind.
The whole point of the extra length on one of the wires is so that you can put it round your neck to reach you far ear, doubling as a makeshift lanyard at the same time.
This came out 4 months ago at Verizon. oh and by the way it's down to $80.00 The headset is actually really good.
I've had one for almost two months now. Bought it at the local Verizon store. Music sounds freaking awesome with these earbuds. It could really use a lanyard though. (For the earbuds)
I think they're done to $60 or $70 at Fry's Electronics.
Strange. But strangely cool.
I see wires...
So just walk into a verizon store, and ill be able to pick these up? I knew I saw these a few months ago on a website, but wasn't sure if they were released. Good deal for $80. May have to pick these up
How bizarre that despite the chain running from the unit to around your neck, ie two thirds of the distance to your ears, that you have to run extra cables from the unit to your ears! Why doesn't the bit you hang it around your neck also carry the signal?!
WOW a bluetooth earphone/headphone that does'nt make you look like a complete dork
kinda defeats the wireless aspect of bluetooth though
Yeah I got these already as well, great volume and sound quality.
i think these are at verizon for $70 now... theyve been out for like 3-4 months
Dammit, I had this idea a few months ago, not a dog tag looking piece but the same concept. Oh well. I went out and bought it today though and I love it.
Oh and for the pricing, J&R in NYC where I bought this, has it for $59.99.
Those earbuds look almost identical to the Sony MDR-EX70 canalphones from back in the day...
i bought this on buy.com for $55. the beauty of it is that the mic is built into the actual device itself and not the headphones. that way you can have it plugged into the auxiliary jack or cassette adapter of your car's sound system. it's like having a bluetooth enabled car by having music and phone calls coming through your car's speakers.
how 2 remove the lanyard chain???
