Why wait for an official announcement and an upgrade that may (or may not) come at some point in the distant future? Do any of us really have the patience for such tomfoolery? We don't think so, which is why it warms our hearts to see the whole BlackJack community huddling together to create, test, and perfect a Windows Mobile 6.1 stack for their beloved devices. It's still in the beta phase, but it's plenty real and the testers are plenty active, giving us hope it'll be stable enough for widespread consumption in the not-too-distant future. At this point, it seems like there's a 6.1 group rallying around virtually every WinMo device out there -- so have hope, (insert device name here) user.[Thanks, MikeyB]

Come on 8525. I won't be to disappointed if we don't get it, as we just got WM6, but It'd be cool. There's not much more I could possibly need on the phone that I don't already have though...So I have no idea what else will be on the 6.1.
The 8525 has already had it. Check out the xda forums.
According to that link, it's for the original BlackJack, not the BJ II.

It's on Beta 2 right now. Da_G is god when it comes to ROMs. His cooked WM6 based on the official ATT release is so much better than the official. It's got the Card Wheel theme found on the Euro i600s and it's overall a lot better. Can't wait until he comes out with a final 6.1 for the BJ.

I know no one will create a hacked 6.1 for the Samsung i760. If Verizon doesn't offer this upgrade like other carriers... this will be my last Verizon phone.
It's a shame too, because the i760 is one of the best WM phones I have ever used. I'm just hoping along with you that Verizon will release WM 6.1 for it.
anyone know of a 6.0 or 6.1 update for the Sprint Moto Q? My friend has one and is always asking me.
The dump for the latest WM6.1 Beta from Da_G came from a Moto Q I believe. You should head over to those forums and see if anyone has got it running on their Q's. I know Da_G owns a 8525 himself, so he might also be able to give you some info on that.
PPC geeks is awesome!!! I've been running 6.1 on my Touch for a long time now to thanks to them.
