Verizon's G'zOne Type-S, now in black and silver

Verizon's Casio-sourced G'zOne Type-S ruggedized clamshell is now available in black and silver, a color combo seemingly befitting the phone's sporty image. This particular version happens to be among the G'zOnes that support push-to-talk, too, so if you can overlook the VGA cam or you just really need a phone that can tolerate absolutely every shred of abuse you can throw at it, well, here you go. Jamar, you obviously don't understand the american market for rugged cell phones. Sure, SOME people out there want a rugged phone with all the fancy bells and whistles but here in the states at least that makes up a SMALL minority. Trust me, most of the people who need a phone as rugged and durable as the G'zOne don't give a flying crap about camera or multi media.

Or, y'know, market to the small minority on top of the majority; the upgraded G'Zone sells in Japan for nearly nothing (and in some cases, is indeed free with contract). If it's going to be that cheap, why not throw in the multimedia, 2MP autofocus camera, and such? Why sell a downgraded model for more?

More expensive? They seemed to be on par with Verizon around the time the model I mentioned was on sale; now with the dropping exchange rate of course they're more expensive.

Er... It's a different one that I'm talking about; Japan got an upgraded G'Zone with microSD, multimedia support, and a dictionary around the time that Verizon got their first G'Zone, which was based off a model that had been discontinued in Japan for a few years. So behind...
