HTC's WinMo 6.1 "Manilla" interface gets pictured
No sooner does Microsoft make Windows Mobile 6.1 really official than we see a slew of screenshots to put that build to shame. The so-called "Manilla" is touted as a customized interface that lies on top of the standard WinMo 6.1 Professional OS, and what you see above purportedly came from a "cooked X7150 ROM with the Manilla aspect thrown in from an unreleased VGA device HTC is working on." For what it's worth, it's also noted that Manilla and TouchFLO 2.0 aren't one in the same, and just in case you aren't totally in love already, tap that read link to witness a gallery full of eye candy.

Notice how that picture says 3G ATT? And how it's a VGA device? Is HTC making a 3G VGA device from ATT? Or is that some unrelated thing that just came up because of where they were testing it?
I'm getting sick of my tilt... 320x240 doesn't cut it, resistive touch screens are horribly inaccurate for finger input (well, depends on the type of resistive screen actually, but this kind does), and windows mobile is terrible. I've been waiting for android but now i'm considering just getting something else until it comes out... Maybe a VU? Or is this secret HTC device worth waiting for? I wish i knew...

You hate WiMo but you are interested in this device? Did you see that little flag in the top left corner?
@ Kirf
I hate winmo in it's current form. 6.1 with the grace of HTC might be useable. I do like the freedom i get with winmo.

Answered my own question on one point - the ATT Text is there because whoever took the screenshots was using ATT, but he had taken the ROM from elsewhere, so there's no clue as to if HTC's new device will come to ATT. :(

Uhhh...just buy it and insert your ATT sim. What's the big deal?
@Mark - Because it might not have the right bands? I decided yesterday that the perfect phone for me at the moment would be an LG Viewty (not the same as the VU), but it's not quad band, so service would be spotty here, and that's not acceptable. Also, buying through importers is more expensive than buying domestically.

This is a cooked HTC Advantage ROM. It was cooked by Pawel over on xda-developers.com. The HTC Advantage is a VGA device that will work on any GSM network. From what I understand he took the ROM from the unreleased 7510.
This rom is being worked on for the HTC advantage. thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379773 (with pics)
yes. this is a picture of a athena x7500 running a athena 1.5 aka x7510 rom on it with manila stuff added from it. this stuff is from a unreleased device. the today screen, the screenshot showing a gray dialer with green buttons(not the manila white one), the comm mananger screenshot, and audio mananger screenshot are from the x7510 rom. the rest that is mostly white is manila. my rom will be available soon for the athena.
for the person asking about a 3g vga att device...... ;)
Doesn't look too bad. Hopefully, there will be a QVGA version for my (Vzw) 6800. The fact that the dialer has big numbers is great. I've had bad luck with dialer skins having to hard reset twice. I just hope it comes soon. Though I'm not expecting much from Verizon on any front at this point.
Actually, while I'm typing this: being that I don't have a touch will Manilla / TouchFlo 2 even work on my 6800 - assuming the WM6.1 update comes?
Are you serious? No one said that looks like an iPhone? At least just as much as the Meizu M8 in the CeBIT version. But yeah, looks nice.
Just hope that it works with RealVGA resolutions aka 96dpi...
