Specs revealed of the real (or fake) Sony Ericsson "Paris"
se-nse is spilling some more beans on its supposed leak of the P5 "Paris" smartphone, and put simply, UIQ fans are (or should be) salivating uncontrollably right now. And when we say "salivating uncontrollably," we mean like to the point that they're unable to present themselves in social situations because there's just this really disgusting stream of spittle constantly flowing out of their mouths. Got that visual? Okay, now check it: the blog is reporting that the Paris will sport a touchscreen display (capacitive, it seems), a semi-QWERTY keypad in the same vein as the M600 and P1, WiFi, 3G (maybe in a global flavor for once?), GPS, and preinstalled Google Maps, all sitting atop UIQ 3.3. If this is real, it gives the XPERIA X1 a nice little run for its money atop the Sony Ericsson food chain, does it not?

Actually, given the aspect ratio, it is VGA and not WVGA, but we shall see.
Yeah, the blog doesn't actually say what the resolution is, merely that UIQ 3.3 will support WQVGA, VGA and WVGA.
Yes, but the aspect ratio is not widescreen, so that leaves VGA (most likely) or QVGA, which has been used on a few Paris prototypes in the past few months.
Whoopsie! Fixed, thanks.
Chris
Kevin I realise that the aspect ratio seen in the pictures doesn't look like a widescreen ratio and I wasn't disputing that, I was merely agreeing that the article doesn't state it's a WVGA screen and pointing out what it does say.
As for what the resolution will be, I hope it's VGA but with the QVGA prototypes, I won't be holding my breath.
I'd take the X1 over this, I really dislike UIQ.
I'd take this one over the X1, I really dislike winmo.
After the disgrace that was the P990i, the huge dissapointment that was the P1i (both compounded by Sony Ericsson's lamentable attitude to customer care and firmware updates) this has better be good!
should be nice with that new slingplayer for uiq now if only nokia would come out with a high end N series with a qwerty

Hey reitling806, care to explain why/how you can classify the P1 has an "huge disapointment"??? The P1 is actually a very good phone, with fantastic multitasking (huge loads of RAM alow it), great battery life, great keyboard, good camera, great build quality and materials, size, etc...and now even the price is great
Anyway...SE/UIQ haters tend to be irrational...so, i expect no explanation
