No offense bro, but if you wanted a 5MP phone, you would be paying top dollar for it, something that these phones are NOT targeted for. This phone is targeted for the everyday who's wanting a little more, not the camera enthusiast.
Don't get me wrong, I'm with you on the situation. I hate seeing phones with 2MP as a standard. Give me some 3.2MPs or something. But you gotta think about their target audience.
If you're gonna go buy a Samsung G810, you bought it for it's 5MP camera with 3X optical zoom, WiFi, GPS, etc.
You can't just expect every phone to come in blazing high-end features because majority of the population wouldn't use a 5MP camera on their phone as much as you or I would.
