While we twiddle our thumbs for these CDMA Curves to finally hit an American carrier or three, we thought we'd post some imagery for everyone to enjoy. Actually, nix "everyone" -- only the diehard BlackBerry addicts are going to get into this. Don't look over your shoulder, buddy, you know who you are. Yeah, you. It's okay, have a peek!
arguing over wich OS to launch, it's gonna launch with the middle of the road OS(the one the pearl currently uses). instead of the new OS that verizon wanted to be the first to launch on this device....just wait til the fall for the new OS and the new BB for verizon.
Finally. I can't say I like the color, though. I prefer the dark gray one that we saw for Sprint and Alltell, but oh well. I think I'm getting the Touch anyway.
Some simple specs: No Wi-Fi, 96mb internal memory (a bump up from the normal 64, probably due to CDMA protocols), Not a world phone, supposedly the OS can handle an 8GB memory card, 3.5mm audio jack, 2mp Camera...normal BB stuff. And if you notice the face plate is different than other Curves so you might have issues with some existing protection options.
whether this phone ever came with wifi or not it would never even matter since RIM expects all BlackBerrys to be paying for the data plans either way. I mean I can understand the use for it when you can get higher speeds with a wifi connection but still RIM ask all carriers to pay for Data so I really don't see the point for it if I have to pay it which isn't a problem for me but I think its silly. Im sure even this topic has been spoken before on any wifi capable device for RIM but it is a gorgeous device though. The Sprint color is better and cooler looking which is the only huge difference. Still love the Network though.
2)Will I be able to download a software OS update this fall to the BB Curve device I plan on getting this month so it performs as the company would like?
That's weird. It was up on the site last night and now the link is broken. Anyways, It listed for $319.99 with a $50 rebate on a 2yr contract. I am sure that it will be available sometime this week. Keep checking the website.

New BB and OS? Are you refering to the 9000 series BB and the new OS that has been spotted on that phone? VZW will have it in the fall?
What's that little hole under the camera? I may have to get this instead of the 8130 if it's not a whole lot bigger.
i agree... when is the release date? is Phonearena's april 30th correct? Some how Verizon made this look SEXY!
Yep, looks like a curve (the ugly version). So will we see this from Verizon or Sprint first?
(lakersin2025, that is the mirror under the camera)

Verizon is releasing this phone on May 5th :)
Do these have wifi?

it is larger because of the OS issue I discussed, it does take 8 gig cards, and yes the face plate is different.

GPS will be crippled I'm sure
VZWguy thanks for the updates....
MY questions:
1)Should I wait till fall for a proper O/S?
2)Will I be able to download a software OS update this fall to the BB Curve device I plan on getting this month so it performs as the company would like?
Thanks
How accurate is this release date of May 5th? I am looking to buy this BB but have no patients, and hate waiting.
Thanks
Verizon has already made it available as of 5/4/08 here is the link:
