8GB Nokia N95 lands on Rogers, sticks tongue out at AT&T
Get this: the first North American carrier to offer up Nokia's 8GB N95 isn't AT&T. Heck, it's not even a US-based operator. No friends, it's Canada's own Rogers Wireless. Just as we had heard late last month, the N95 8GB has officially landed in the Great North, and starting on May 6th, consumers up that way will be able to secure one for a hefty $399.99 with a three-year activation on the Rogers Vision Unlimited On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan. Don't weep too heavily, AT&T users -- your time should be coming soon.

Anyone know if it is easy to text on this phone...I have an htc s621 right now and it has a full qwerty keyboard...I know the n95 does not have the keyboard but is texting somewhat manageable? Nice looking phone! Can't wait to see one in person.
if you are used to qwerty keyboard then i dont think it will be too easy for you to text on the N95. i had the tytn i and iphone before getting the N95. texting on it it was hell cuz i was used to the qwerty. it was so bad that i had to get a tytn II, also the battery life sucks on the N95.
I see where you are coming from. I had an 8125/HTC Wizard with full keyboard and it made texting easy, but I don't have a problem on my n95 with texting and messaging.
I think it's a matter of preference. People didn't like reading my super long messages anyway.
I think that where the keyboard came in handy was if I was using the phone for heavy emailing. In those cases, the n95 was frustrating but with this phone, there is so much to do that you won't even pay much attention to texting without a keyboard.
Would love to get the tytn II...not yet available here in Canada....could get one on ebay I guess...now that the i-phone is coming to Canada that could something to look at as well. Finally nice to get some options for better phones here in Canada (tytn II would be nice)!
even with better phones, we're still stuck with crappy carriers and rate plans.
yeah, it's definitely the Great WHITE North, not just the Great North.
Told you it was the N95-4 on the last article about this!

...sounds expensive, just how many sheep per month will this set me back?

Does this mean Rogers will disable the wifi and force us to pay for all web surfing?
When I had a demo unit of this phone, it had all the requisite Rogers software installed but it still had WiFi enabled. Whether or not that'll be the case when the phone finally comes out, I'm not sure, but as far as I know it was still enabled.
I just called Rogers about when I can buy a N95 and they had no idea what I was talking about! So much for the May 6 release date.
lol @ may 6
please stop lying to everyone
sorry, i am wrong, delete that
