Indeed I've been using the writable ZFS implementation for Leopard that the Apple developers released a few months ago and it really is great.
Some huge speed increases thanks to aggressive caching, especially when reading & writing to the same drive simultaneously... and you gotta love the dynamic striping and RAID-Z
