Nokia's iPhone gets a name, say hello to the iPerformer?

We're hearing rumors about Nokia's fabled touchscreen set and it may be that the thing's been codenamed the iPerformer. Pretty weak sauce, huh? Specs are thin, pictures of it are nonexistent -- the pic above is from the GoPlay event last August -- but there's at least enough to spark a glimmer of hope. The rumored specs include a widescreen touchscreen, NaviScroll, QWERTY keypad, GPS, FM radio, FM transmitter, WiFi, Bluetooth, TV out, and a Web cam? No thoughts on pricing, foundation in reality, or even any sort of release timeline, but we've got time and hopefully Nokia's eventually going to have the goods.

Who the f**k is the source for this? "iPerformer" doesn't sound Nokia codenameish to me.
i totally agree. Nokia doesn't pick names like that. If they did, its v lame.
Isn't this what folks initially called the Nokia Tube? What happened to that?
The tube is apparently the codename for a smaller touchscreen phone. It's supposedly the size of a Nokia N73.
This "Iperformer" (seriously doubt that's the name) is the answer to the Iphone. I hope that's not the name...I'll abandon nokia all together.
I hate to add another negative, but by the time this gets released in the U.S., the Iphone version 5 will be out and then Nokia will be playing catch up again.
iperformer that sounds like China MTK headsets with all the funny names XDD
those specs sound too good to be true. there would finally be a perfect phone. why do i think nokia would f*** it up and only put 3g 2100?
if they have to compete with 3G iphone they gotta have 850/1900MHz HSDPA.
Mr. Oli is the source? He better have a way reliable source, cause that's ridiculous =P
...anyway, not that we're supposed to know about code names.
i heard it will be based on S40 which is it is true very disappointing. They should use S60v3 FP1 or higher
it will be based on s60 touch, of course
LOL! iPerformer?? Someone's pulling my leg!
Am I the only person that thinks that the name and actual phone is a COMPLETE knockoff of the iPHONE?????? So according to you engadget schmucks it's ok to knock off other companies products as long as it's not a Chinese company right?
You know that picture isn't real, right?
Makes me laugh about iPhone copy comments. If you're designing at touch screen phone with a big screen and no keys, how on earth are you not supposed to make it look like an iPhone?
More like iPerkele!
You only want HSDPA, what's wrong with you? Why wouldn't you want HSPA? I love that you think Applie will be on iPhone v5 by the end of teh year too! You guys kill me some times.
