Neither Verizon nor LG have yet revealed the
VX8610 slider -- not officially, anyway. Maybe they're waiting to prepare some sort of blockbuster event to unveil it, and with the nifty secret up the musicphone's sleeve, who could really blame 'em? The VX8610 will be the first phone released by a carrier in the US to tote its Bluetooth headset like a backpack, charging as you go so it's always ready for business. The latest rumor has Verizon planning on a June launch, so feel free to treat your current headset like crap in the meantime. Check out another picture following the break.

yeah i work in the one of the retail locations and one of our techs is testing this out. Its pretty nice and the headset is pretty comfortable. the only thing I didnt get to check was whether it played music through the bluetooth, but if it does this thing will be one of our top sellers.
I like bluetooth and all, but I personally don't think I would ever want it to attach or detach from my phone, I think those are two things that should stay seperated. Phone doesn't look too bad though, I rather see a touchscreen on the upper slide like the Venus but other than that not bad.
I think people are missing something pretty big here:
There's a reason why there's so many different bluetooth headsets out there and it's not because manufacturers just enjoy using money as paper towels (though, some do); It's because there are different types that work for different people including levels of quality.
Honestly, it's a nice idea, but unless the included bluetooth is on the same level as a Jawbone or at the very least a Motorola H710, all I see is a waste of space and money.
I hear what you're saying (well, rather read, but, the internet makes all that fuzzy, anywho...), but you're missing something even bigger: novelty. Is a cell phone with a built in bluetooth headset a good idea? Yes. Will people want it? I'd say so.
Even if it's not the best quality, it's still two toys in one.
Yes, but if the quality isn't as good as the most popular, average priced headset (the Moto H710) then people are gonna have to buy a headset ANYWAYS.
As I said, nice in concept, but probably sucks in practice. Besides, it kinda makes it ugly.
Ewww that is so ugly. I'm so glad I just left Verizon for Sprint I hate Verizons prices and phones and the UI.
I hate to say it "ALL of you missed the mark"...
The obvious here is the fact that your headset will be with you at all times, and here's the kicker, it will be charging at all times. Stop hating, think beyond your hass'ole and wonder, "What could I do if I stopped hating & started dating"...
viva iPhone
Good idea for the next. iPhone gen.....
I think you're al missing something important.... from the photos I saw, it looks like it's based on the chocolate / venus platform. If that's the case, make sure you get the TEC
This is a good idea for a phone like the HTC Advantage. Not sure about smaller handsets though. But why not?
i think its a good idea, except for the dumb ass ppl calling like like "i lost my bluetooth, can you give me another one?" annnndddd that will be a no, its an accessory, if you lost it too bad, i know they're not getting a free one from me
