Samsung Soul promo video shows 10 optical illusions in 136 seconds
We'll be frank -- we really have no idea what Samsung's getting at with its freshest Soul promotional video, but it's certainly a fine piece of eye candy if nothing else. Put simply, the video shows a maniac darting about demonstrating ten optical illusions in just over two minutes, and in case you couldn't guess, the Soul is saved for last. Should we have prefaced that bit with a spoiler warning? Too bad -- vid's still waiting after the jump if you're interested, though.

Those types of optical illusions only work on camera.

Actually, not true. Some of them only work on camera, others work better in person. For example, the heads following you, that works best in person because it looks like they really are following you. The different sized shapes works well either way, as well as the checker board.
Some of them are simply angle illusions, which means if they were set up so you could only see them from very limited directions, they would work well in person, but if you went to another direction, they would fail. The dinosaur would be one of those, as would the tire thing.
I don't know about the tie-fighter looking thing, because I'm not sure what the illusion was supposed to be.
Why does it say 10 optical illusions and then only show 8 (including the Samsung one)?
Still only 9 if you include the drilled SAMSUNG... =/
@Secret Squirrel
So, we've got the 7 actual illusions, the Samsung display (whatever that illusion is supposed to be), the drill powered Samsung sign... and the entire commercial because only giving us 9(ish) illusions is an illusion in and of itself?
lol the only one i dont get is the soul. hahaha. what is the illusion on that? lol.
I think the point of the promo is that the Soul is also an illusion because the buttons on the touchscreen change depending on where in the menu you are. (Maybe that has the angle as a symbol) I dont know its confusing but its WICKED!
After watching that promo video i will never be buying a Samsung phone ever again.
