BlackBerry OS 4.5.0.37 finds its way onto the web
Numerically, it's just a smidgen of an update, but for OS 4.5 users everywhere, we know you're craving the very latest point release. Apparently RIM wasn't too happy about the download links finding their way out onto the world wide intarnetz, but if you've got an 8100, 8300, 8700 or 8800 handset, we'd highly recommend firing up Google and doing a bit of sleuthing.

I have a T-Mobile 8100 with 4.2.1.07 installed , i found the link via rapid share downloaded it , ran the exe its installed on my computer, but my desktop manager is still 4.2. How do i go about getting this onto my Blackberry?

Have fun =]
How reliable has this been? Is there a possibility of dead-bricking the phone?
Also, would I also be able to still have UMA on my T-Mobile Curve 8320?
I don't know about UMA on your 8320 but I stuck this on my 8310 and had serious signal loss issues. I've had .10 and .18 as well and had the same troubles. Obviously it's a beta so I'm not complaining - just blew it away and reinstalled the last stable release from ATT. No sweatski.
carcomptoy,
I would not recommend it for the 8320 since it does not work nicely with UMA. That seems to require some more testing. There has not been any cases of bricking a phone but some t-mobile users are reporting issues with their SIM card. I can confirm it works with 8310, 8100, 8110, 8800, & 8820 like a charm.
If your interested in T-mobile UMA support look for the older OS 4.5.0.18 which worked fine with UMA from what I remember. No promises. :)
Where might I find that?
UMA is not working on mine after i installed it which suks but wifi works and i must say wifi is faster i dunno why. also youtube works ! and the os is great no bugs found yet only the UMA service any ideas if there is a fix for this ?
Any experienced 8700G-users with the most recent 4.5.0.37 on TMo? Success? Limitations?
I updated my 8700g to 4.5.0.37 last night and played around with it for a while. Everything seems to be up and running with no noticeable problems.
Can anyone tell me how to get this OS installed?
i have installed it on my computer and have BDM 4.3 installed now too. but not sure where to go from there.
any help?
If you're not familiar with how to load an OS to your BB, I wouldn't recommend messing around with a beta version of 4.5. You WILL have issues.
i wish we could reply to a reply , eric if we dont ever figure out then we will never learn. Do you have a tut or anything you could link us to ? i have googled but have not been able to figure it out.
You'll just have to Google around for the OS. I can tell you that the latest is 4.5.0.42. However, the reason why I say if you don't know how to load an OS onto your BB, you should wait for a stable official version and then follow the usual steps posted in most (if not all) BB message boards out there. Some people have experienced fried SIM cards with some releases of Beta 4.5. Not that many (maybe a couple) have experienced it on 4.5.0.42 though. Some applications won't work right with 4.5 either, i.e. Google Maps, you have to do some workaround to make it work. Best bet is to read up on some message boards and decide if you want to make the plunge and start messing with your OS.
We've been having hits on our mobile site with version 5???

I had 4.5.0.37 installed on my 8320.......BB browser was messed up and it would not connect to UMA. Reverted back to 4.5.0.18 and pretty much everything works again except high bit rate videos.
you have to delete the tmobile certificates for this version to work on UMA the problem then though is it appears to fry your sim cards i went threw 3 in 3 days with this os
Where can i get a copy of the new OS 4.5
Will this work on the 8120? I have T-Mobile 4.3.0.115
Thanks
