Motorola Q9 - awesome = Q9e, available now
We weren't really seeing a market for Motorola's Q9 with the 3G removed, but we suppose that's what makes us journalists, and Motorola... Motorola. In its infinite wisdom, Moto has released the Q9e on its US web store, which is simply a Q9 with a quadband GSM radio that tops out with EDGE data -- no WiFi or anything cool like that. It's running Windows Mobile 6.0, features a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash, and is encouraged for purchase as part of a package with the T815 GPS module for a grand total of $724.98 unlocked. Any takers?

So let me get this straight...
It is essentially just like my Q9h, nothing added, 3G taken away... But instead of the $100 I paid for mine and then got a $100 rebate.... I should pay 750 for it?
Yeah. That makes sense.
That would be like selling a phone for the same price with or without contract. Like that would ever happen!
I'll take 2! Not.
Moto=dummies
It's still $500 even without the GPS module. Just get a Q9h of off eBay.
If motorola is really interested in staying alive then why don't they offer the A1800 (ming2) It would be an instant hit.
A friend of mine bought a Ming (the first one) on eBay from some guy in China. Seemed like an awesome little phone.
This is going to put an end to Palm!
Palm doesn't need any help. They are failing very well on their own.
Hrm... Nope.
FAIL. Epic, FAIL.
Mr. Icahn, can you please knock some sense into them. Ryan, maybe you should run their mobile division. I'll take a CTO job. ;-)
"How do we make a Q9 for T-Mobile?"
"Make a Q9 with WCDMA-1700 in anticipation of their 3G deployement?"
"No, too complicated."
"Gut the 3G radio from our Q9, so it's Edge only?"
"No, that'd be stupid."
"Stupid is our business model!"
"Ok, we're good to go then!"
Motorola is still around? Can someone just buy them up and end their misery. Apparently, they stop learning how to innovate after the RAZR.
What an agonizing death.
Somebody kill the phone division of Moto. Their sepuku is taking too long.
I was just watching Book of Secrets. You know the part where the bad guy clones the Motorola RZR of Patrick Gates, I noticed that his bluetooth was On and Discoverable. Also looks like it has a Fast User Switching capability! fancy that.
