Samsung's i900 Omnia gets official, hands-on treatment
One of Samsung's worst kept secrets (if we can even call it that) has finally been "announced" by the company, and we're guessing the timing here isn't coincidental. Nevertheless, the Windows Mobile 6.1-powered i900 Omnia features quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE support, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, a built-in accelerometer, WiFi module, USB port, FM tuner, Bluetooth, 3.2-inch 400 x 240 resolution display and a 5-megapixel camera (with smile detection and geotagging). An 8GB and 16GB version will soon be available, and prospective buyers can expect to see Sammy's own TouchWiz user interface loaded on. Reportedly, the handset will be available later this month in undisclosed areas of the globe (probably after being showcased at CommunicAsia), while Europe is expected to see it in July. Hands-on photos await you in the read link.

Great specs and I like the design (has that brush metal Samsung U900 look). Hope the touch screen is as responsive as Apple's products, and that the screen isn't too reflective.
What would top it off is the just the right price...
The TouchWiz UI looks really interesting. I'll be on the look out for this handset
You have got to be kidding me! HAHAHAHA!
Oh, this is nice. To bad it wont see the US for 6 months.
The only realistic changes I would make to this device would be to give it a (more standard) 3.5" dispaly and a (more standard) vga resolution, mainly for 3rd party application compatibility. Besided that, I love this phone I absolutly cant wait untill this comes out. Windows Mobile RULES (when combined with an exteded user interface ) !!!!!!!! (and yes I am a Windows Mobile fanboy, but I still think the iPhone rocks)
"Thank you Apple for taking on the daunting task of being an industry disrupter; hence encouraging companies to become more innovative, as a result they are now producing some kick ass phones like the one mentioned in this article)!
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Wow!!! This is what I expected them Samsung/Sprint Instinct to be like. Sprint drops the ball again!! This is an awesome phone. (Why wasn't this made cdma)
Is that a front facing video conferencing camera I see..or just sensors like the we know what?
Which carrier is it coming out for?
AT&T only I bet right?
Fuh..
They need verizon/sprint to get it for $199 to compete with the we know what..
Now it's the middle of july and we europeans haven't had any news about this thing.
Do I really have to buy an iPhone?

This phone looks great
Am i right that it can do all the things the iphone can do but better????
If you know the answer can you reply to me!!!
Cheers
Its a great phone, the only bad thing about it is that being a windows mobile based phone you need the stylus to work with it, although you can do a regular use without it, things like phonecalls, sms. Its got a nice interface on top of the windows mobile. Its a better phone than the iphone, but it doesnt got that great interface that the iphone offers.
I am thinking that this one(Samsung Omnia) will be really a successful phone because a couple of months before when samsung armani was launched, the momentum was quite positive but it failed to be so popular as it started.
Now i hope that this will really capture the market which samsung armani didn't.
