Alright, so here's
one more picture we dug up -- turns out black won't be the only color available for Casio's latest piece of Verizon kit, the
Boulder. Multiple color options for a G'zOne aren't unprecedented, but what
is unprecedented is for the second color option to be straight-up wild, and in the Boulder's case, we'd say that this shade of orange certainly qualifies as "wild." We've also learned that the phone clocks in at
2.02 x 3.94 x 0.91 inches, making it close to a quarter-inch thinner than the Type-S it replaces. It'll feature a 1.3 megapixel camera -- a modest spec bump -- and, of course, EV-DO Rev. A-based push-to-talk services. Shouldn't be but a few more weeks, months, or years before we can start dropping these into pools and throwing them against brick walls ourselves.
11:11, make a wish!
i like the orange one, it can be submerged in water up to 30 ft, well they both can but the orange is good color option
It's already available in New York Metro!!
Where is this phone being sold in the NY metro?
I'm not sure. But I had a customer come in the other day with it and said they purchased in in NYC. sorry!
It'd be nice if this phone didn't lose so much in the trip over the Pacific. Also, it wouldn't hurt for them to release models *before* their Japanese counterparts are discontinued.
I searched Verizon today. A search for "Boulder" turned up batteries specifically for this phone. A search for "G'zOne" turned up absolutely nothing. A search for "Casio" turned up almost nothing. It looks to me like they've cleaned out their inventory of G'zOne's in order to roll out the new ones - and they're in the process of getting them into the system.
I went on verizons website and started calling all the stores in New York after the comments about New York. I have been waiting to get this phone so I have been calling like everyday in Michingan with no results but finally I got someone in New York who knew what I was talking about and they said that the phone is going to be released sometime in August They didnt have a specific date or prices for the phone. Hope this helped.
I was told the end of July for it's release... Hmmm.. I hope it comes out sooner than later. I have people waiting on it.
Just talked to a Verizon store in a small town in PA and the Boulder will be available for shipment on August 4th. I was hoping the June 25th date shown on the phone was it but not so lucky. The store said even though the Motorola Adventure v750 is rolling out now that many people, like myself, are waiting for the Boulder. He said they will not have any in the stores (other that POSSIBLY a demo phone) but they can order them for immediate shipment.
I ordered it today at a Verizon store in Sacramento. They are 2 Day Fedexing to me. Yay!
Just received new boulder casio today, black in color. Phone has terrible sound quality in earpiece. Returned to Verizon for exchange, they told me the orange version was better in quality for some unknown reason and that the black version had been "quarantined" from sale. No orange version available though. I'm stuck for now. Our company employees got 15 new phones today, the majority are complaining of the quality.
Are you still having Compalints about the Boulder
they have the orange one on http://www.pixycell.com/verizon-utstarcom-gzone-boulder-c711-cellphone-orange-p-321.html
My company has got 3 of the G'zOne boulder phones to try them out.The phone
works well but the battery on a scale of 0-10 and 0 the lowest is a big O.This is
with normal use.On the LG model the battery would last 2 to 3 days with the same
amount of use.

I have mine for a week after Labor Day. Perhaps they tweaked it after all these negative reviews and I certainly was concerned, but my phone has no battery and sound problems. I am satisfied. The curious thing about it was the manual has no description of its military specs except that the phone is "water resistant" in tap water only. Not waterproof?
I contacted Verizon about the audio quality of my Gzone Boulder. The next day my phone did an automatic software upgrade. I would not have known but I was trying to use the phone and saw what was happening. I received an email the next day from Verizon saying this was the first they heard of the problem. Wow this was a coincidence that the software update happened the next day. The audio quality has improved tremendously but still is not as loud on the speaker phone as I wished. The battery still sucks. My friend has the extended battery and it lasts about 20 hours with about 2 hours of talk with standby.
