Danger Sidekick LX does video, quality suffers

Well, we heard it was on the way, and it's here. Danger's Sidekick LX recording live action video. Unfortunately, the results are far from exhilarating; truthfully, they're downright embarrassing. The first preview we've seen shows a stamp-sized (read: 176 x 144 pixels) video with less-than-stellar quality, but hey, it's a Sidekick LX recording video. So, still eager to see this rolled out en masse? (Wait 'til you check the sample in the read link before answering that.)[Thanks, Oscar]
Yeah..my house is a mess..and the video quality makes it look even worst, lol. It doesn't however look as bad on the actual sidekick.
Oh jeez, I am so unbelievably surprised.

for some reason i am not sad i ditched my LX for the Iphone...
Well, at least when I think of the average SideKick user, I think of someone who's trying to be trendy and wants to have the coolest, latest, bestest ( I know, not a word, but rhetorically it works) thing. When said user is trying to pose as a technophile, he will feel good to mention that his LX records video without any regard for the quality at which it does so.
Again, this is just my stereotype of SideKick users. Of course, it's not air-tight and it's probably terribly ignorant.
That pretty much sums it up, except the people that actively participate in the Danger community, we understand how things work, as to why they work, I'm not a technophile, yes my LX does record at a pretty bad quality, but it's the price I pay to have a phone that has the ability to multitask as fluidly as it does. Other phones may provide a 5MP camera, with 3 MP recording quality, but how many people will it keep you connected to, whilst doing many other things..
But yes, your right, the OTHER average LX users, are people my age that ask "wutz bluetooth, wutz ota? duz dat mean dat i can watch moviez?"
But the involved Danger community isn't always like that, sometimes, we tend to know more than T-Mobile Reps themselves ;)
Correction to above post, I AM a technophile, I pretty much assemble computers together , seeing as how my father is a computer engineer. :)

The sidekick camera's had always have bad quality. I would like to see a sidekick with a 5MP camera or more.
wow, kinda like the quality of my sony ericsson s710...from what, three years ago? and the s700 from a year before that i guess.
now that the lx can record video we hate it more?
doesnt the sony ericsson k800/k810 record video at the same quality? & dont they have a 3 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA. c'mon people this is america. we arent all to ready for tv worthy video on our phones

Ok People, 1st they are phones. (1st used to call people, pretty much the main use.) Sidekick is the most most universal and easy(I've tried them all) Just the fact that people would pay 299 and up for a phone is crazy (I've done it before so I'm crazy.) Could have went on vacation, groceries, supported your family, pay on your house or care. I don't care who you are. The coolest thing makes you feel good for a while, till you wanna keep up with the Johnsons again. When the next best thing comes out. How bout we utilize our Video cameras, digital cameras, and use a phone as a phone. Sucks that people pay so much for phones. Lets get real.
if i buy a new sidekick lx from t-mobile now.. does it have video recording? anyone know??
